@123max i can guess why legit owners wont help , coz even if the game got cracked PB wont last forever & 'll get disabled shortly & it 'll be another Aimbots Feast just as MW2 , COD4 , MOH , etec. trust me , it aint worth it after all ! i have gave up on both MW2 & MOH in only 1 hour

I will say this, I am glad to see that EA's iron grip on server files is OVER. Finally, I can host my own damn server with out having to pay for it.

Okay, my server is now ranked, punkbuster, hardcore and with all options enabled running logged into ea's masterserver. Legit players can join and play, everything is working! Much thanks

If a proper admin runs the server and monitors the activity of its users, then Punkbuster is not necessarily needed. I own a legit BFBC2, but unfortunately do not have it installed anymore.

Wow, can't believe we have really desperate people here who believes pirates are righteous to play this game in multiplayer. I can understand people who are patient, but desperate and impatient people make me laugh.
Alright, just a question for those guys who were able to run their servers and were able to reach a 16vs16 game. Can you guys check how much is your CPU/Memory usage at that peak? Please specify your specs too. Because I have doubts about the stability and speed of a privately owned server considering that this game is a resource hog. EA/DICE already mentioned long ago before the release that they are not releasing the server files considering that the server files itself is also a resource hog.
I'm not saying hosting games with the server files now are nearly impossible when you talk about speed and stability on large scale wars. We'll just see how much hardware are we going to need.

I did a SQRUSH playlist server for a while, on the same machine playing the game. 4v4 and no noticeable issues. It's hard to get people joining when your ping doesn't show up in browser. Anyone figure the ping thing out? I have all ports forwarded...

Try running as administrator?
If you're using Steam as a platform for BFBC2, then I really don't know how I can help you. I have plenty of friends who bought it on Steam and they have issues with displaying the ping.
