Found this on thepiratebay. Looks like proper instructions for installing the RELOADED version of K&L2:

How to install:
===========

1. Run Setup.exe. This will install Steam if you don't have it installed.
2. When setup asks for activation, simply minimize it and run steambackup.exe.
3. Select your Steam folder (C:\Program Files\Steam by default).
4. Wait until steambackup finishes, it may take up to 10 min.
5. Press Cancel in Steam setup.
6. In your Steam folder you'll find subfolder named "Kane & Lynch 2- Dog Days". Open it and copy crack from Crack folder on iso there.

That's it.

Few more tips:

- You don't need any serial number.
- You don't need to uninstall Steam before game setup if you have it installed.
- You may uninstall Steam afterwards if you don't need it as the game doesn't require it running.

wtf!? u only need to start steambackup.exe and it dont want to install steam then! Point: You do not need steam to install this, thats the whole point of that "scene" Release....

Like I said, I found those instructions on thepiratebay, its not mine, I'm using a completely different version than the RELOADED one.

there is any chance to remove the fucking ceg from the latest exe? 1.1a ? i managed to play it but after a few minutes ctd without error message.

I played 1.1a with alienswarm id,i modified swarm.exe to launch kl2,is the only way to play 1.1a version,everything is unlocked,multiplayer ranked matches...etc

I'll do the same and see if I also get CTD errors. Are you using the 1.1 patch files from the Steam Content Sharing for K&L 2 ? Because that is where I found the ncf's and patch 1.1 archive previously.

PS: Can you provide me with the exe you modified, sorry I completely misread what u posted, though u just used the Alien Swarm ID.

i just created a .bat and compiled to exe. and btw can you send me the link from where you got the 1.1 update because i can't find it,i found only the normalversion ncf and the exe,few days ago i got the full update but i don't know why the hell i deleted it,now i can't find it.
No Achievements or official multiplayer,of course,we can play it multiplayer if every cracked user uses same id...you know .

Thats the ncf and version 1.1 update. See what you can do, I don't know how I did it, but when everyone 1st started playing the full version of K&L2 online, I got version 1.1 working without any effort and I even picked up games in lobbies etc.

When I run it now however, the screen does go black, but then goes back to the desktop. I haven't been able to get it to launch again since then, don't know what I'm doing wrong. I only used the files I got in the link I posted for you.

The main problem I have with playing LAN with the RELOADED release is that you can't change your player name, so everyone ends up being named !*RELOADED*! and it SUCKS because you can't tell who's who ... and I can't edit it out of the cracked steamapi dll .... any ideas ?

Soz downwire, I wouldn't know hey. The only way to circumvent that is to use Steam, because then every user can specify their names. I know you are on LAN, but if you have an internet connection at your LAN, use Steam then via LAN.

RIPaciD, I found that if I launch K&L2 via Steam using v1.1 then it works, but obviously I can't create any games. Plus using steam id *censored AppID* doesn't work either. I'm pretty sure it did work previously without Steam, because I could pick up games. Mmmm, but we'll probably need an exe with CEG removed like you said in order for it to work properly I guess.

I don't know about you guys, but it seems that every game I've ever played using this STEAM method, I have experienced a extreme hike in ping or lag which makes the game totally unplayable, an others that I have played with can conform as well.

I admit I have not played many online matches through STEAM using this method, maybe 10 games tops, but every match up was horrible which leads me too believe that something is flawed? =(

But surprisingly enough this game can be played online ( in lan ) using Tunngle without any lag at all & any specialized patching.

You just install K&L2:Dog Days, apply the RELOADED crack, open your Tunngle program, join a Tunngle lobby where the game is being hosted an open your K&L game, multi-player, join a LAN match =)

I have yet to be launched into a game that was unplayable.

I have not played this game online using STEAM in maybe two weeks, maybe some updated patch or something has become available since then which reduces lag or high spikes in ping?

you can change it,by hex editing the dll.
