I believe there was a huge leak of some sort when the Steam forums were hacked by some community. I can't tell you exactly why Dead Island of all games, but people got a considerable amount of keys through that community. The neat thing is that Valve doesn't seem to mind. If you happen to have registered one and don't mention it to anyone, you'll likely get away with it.
Also, a sad update, in case you people haven't noticed: - CDAction no longer offers free Dark Messiah of Might and Magic multiplayer Steam keys due to heavy abuse during the Christmas sale, meaning you can no longer activate the Friends feature on cracked Steam through this.
I found some other ways to activate the Friends feature, so stay tuned for a new thread regarding this.

NBA 2K9 / MLB® Front Office Manager for free

NOTE: This method will work ONLY ONCE on each PC. You can't use it on multiple accounts! (if someone finds a way to avoid this, please let me know)

1. Download NBA2K9.iso (2mb, Mediafire) for NBA2 2K9 or mlbdisk.nrg (2mb, Unibytes) for MLB Front Office Manager. 2. Mount using Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% or any similiar program. 3. Make sure you are logged in the account you wish to register the game on. 3. Open the virtual drive folder (Right click > "Open" for Win7 users) 4. Run Setup.exe 5. Choose any language and click OK, click Install, accept the License Agreement and click Install. 6. Switch to your Steam window, there should be a new game waiting for you there!
Please mirror NBA2K9.iso and mlbdisk.nrg as much as possible to keep this alive!
IF IT DOESN'T WORK:
Workaround
If the game activation window does not appear after following the steps mentioned above, try using an American VPN. If you don't have a VPN, follow the instructions below.
1. Open http://hideme.ru/premium/demo/ in your browser. (you can change the language to English on the top left) 2. Enter a LEGIT mail address and click on the button. 3. Wait for the mail from feedback@hideme.ru to arrive. 4. Copy the code in the mail. 5. Go to the main page http://hideme.ru/vpn 6. Scroll down a little bit and enter your code above the blue button on the left. 7. Click on the blue button. 8. Confirm the download. 9. Download OpenVPN from http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/downloads.html 10. Install OpenVPN. 11. Navigate to the folder where you installed OpenVPN. 12. Open the folder “config” in the OpenVPN directory. 13. Insert the files from “windows” from the zip into the “config” folder in your OpenVPN directory. 14. Start “OpenVPN GUI”. (If you use windows 7/vista start it with administrator rights) 15. Rightclick on the OpenVPN symbol in the task bar. 16. Choose a USA server (HideME.ru Utah) 17. Click on Connect. 18. Restart Steam if it is running, if not start it now. 19. Re-do the NBA2K9 / MLB Front Office Manager steps as written above. 20. Exit Steam & disconnect VPN.

As you can see new metod is through launching Launchgta4.exe and login with valid cd key and pass the check.Since our method is by using cracked launcher this just dont work.Keys that we use are not nativly for gta4 and cant pass security check.They can pass only GFWL security.So no,for now there is now way to play the original game with this keys,unfortunately...Other games of course will work,this is only for GTA4 and EFLC.
