http://www.mediafire.com/?0l2xqzc1fba2yzs somebody test this with the linex files
It gives me a message that says "Steam must be running to play this game".
I closed SmartSteam, then I run it again, executed the new exe of that archive, it opens the exe then immediately closes it again, so basically no change for me.
If I modifiy the steam_appid.txt file, it also tells me "Steam must be running to play this game".
Using Revloader, it also just opens the exe and closes it down again.
Mmmmm, really weird that akalor gets that type of error.. although akalor, I think its looking for a game folder in your My Documents, so if you have a My Games folder, check inside that if there is a Homefront one, don't think it will be too difficult to get that file from someone to put in there, maybe then it will work.
crashes with steam running while launching exe. (debugging shows "Unhandled exception at 0x00ebde98 in HOMEFRONT.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xfffffffc." returns "steam must be running" when steam isn't running (of course). gives the ini missing from my documents error when trying to launch from steam
also, after a little googling it looks like the My Documents/My Games/Homefront dir is setup almost identically to the actual game dir, with Binary, Engine, and GCGame folders, so for shits and giggles I tried copying the whole game to the My Games/Homefront folder... no luck though. the idea that the My Games folder is setup similar to the main homefront folder came from here: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/fo ... 4&p=211433 weak I know, would be easier if someone with the legit game could just shed some light on its structure
When i use that .EXE file with RevLoader shortcut the game icon actually shows up at the startbar then it says the game crashes. Btw i used the command line "-Launch HOMEFRONT.exe" on my RevLoader Shortcut, and i also started it from the folder, because when i start it from Steam or SmartSteam it says "Steam must be running to play this game". I provided a picture to clear things up!
