Hi, I connected to portal2atlas2 and portal2pbody2.
Only person online is hocker, who is the host of the both the server, and he has to be online for everyone.
I just wanna play portal2 with somebody.

I'm getting the same problem, I'm trying to connect over LAN (we've set sv_Lan to 1) but I keep getting disconnected cause he can't connect to me. He's on steam version and I'm on updated version. Any word on how I can fix this? Is it working for anyone over LAN?

not sure for hamachi, but for tunngle you dont need to set lan to 1
also hoster should put this in there startup cmd line so you can HOST before client connects

Ok guys I finished playing co-op and have hosted a few chapters after that just for fun so below is what I noticed.

sv_lan 1 is not needed if you use tunngle or hamachi. Both users must be on the same version of portal 2, when I was chatting on tunngle a lot of users had different versions, some with / without crack fix, some with / without update 1. Rumour is saying update 1 causes more disconnections.

When on tunngle ask if anybody is interested in a game from chapter "x", once you get a reply, add each other as friends and then start a chat. (if you just spam your ip, you don't know who is connecting to you) Once in chat with another user, confirm their version, confirm the chapter, confirm that their not a noob (unless you want to play with a noob), then ask him / her to connect to your tunngle ip and to pm you on the chat to say that they are ready and have reached the loading screen. Now just type in the appropriate map commands.

How I spam on tunngle, "Chapter 3, non update 1, I host, add me as friend if interested."

My first full play through was with a Russian, anyway we hardly spoke but completed the game pretty fast, lolz kinda pity him thought at around 3am my time (we started at 11pm), I was sleepy and brain dead so he pretty much did all the thinking from then on.

Well still crashes for me :oops: it took 3 hours to extract everything and install. Downloaded within 3 hours also.. when the map loads it crashes to the desktop without any error messages.. help

If your on a REAL LAN Disable All tunngle and hamachi services and it works

and i never had to change any setings like sv_lan 0 or something..

just leave it as it is! and it works

I would just like to add that cracked and legit versions CAN play together, despite what some have said, I just tried it with a friend.

- The person with the cracked version must host (you'll get "steam validation rejected" if the legit owner hosts).
- The legit owner must be in Offline Mode in Steam. Steam menu > Go Offline.
- Connecting via Direct IP and Tunngle work fine.

Then the rest is the same as the instructions on the first post.

If you have a friend with a legit version and has completed co-op, then you can go to any level as it's already saved and unlocked for them.

Hi Guys. I could run lan game. And im gonna tell you how i did.

First thing is download ''Portal.2.Update.2-SKIDROW'' update.

Then add bind "F12" "toggleconsole" to "config.cfg" file in Valve\Portal 2\portal2\cfg

In host pc start the game and open console write sv_lan 1 , coop 1 , mp_wait_for_other_player_notconnecting_timeout 600 (if you want to change this setting also you have to write sv_cheats 1) and mp_wait_for_other_player_timeout 600

Finally write net_start and then write map mp_coop_catapult_1(whatever you want) Write net_status and learn what is host pc's ip.

And on other pc write connect host ip (ex. connect 192.168.2.1)

192.168.2.1 is wrong ip unless your playing under lan (both pc under same router)

192.168.2.1 is an example ip. If you play with hamachi you have different ip. To learn your ip write on console net_status
