[Question] Bioshock 2 DLC Minerva's Den for PC?

if you dont care about the new gamepad support(its really the only difference now IMO).. then its now possible to play the DLC on the retail version too using a newly modded xlive.dll

just read the last few pages to find out how.. and i can confirm this method works 100%

i tried it, but it makes the game crash on start. could i use a steam emu to play the minerva's den ?

You need to change the language in ALI213.ini after you copy the files into the main game dir

i had the same problem at first on the RETAIL version... delete the BioShock2 settings folder in the
C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Bioshock2
and DO NOT use that RADiATiON crack.. it crashes constantly... use the RLD crack for update v1.5

also make sure you have the DLC in the correct folder structure and you will have the game with both SP DLC working

and no you can not use the steam emu on the retail version

Friend of mine got Steam Error a Application load error 6:0000065432 while running FTS release? Any idea what can cause it?

i completed the main story a while ago with that crack, had no crashes. i'll try rld crack however.

no you cannot just use the steam binaries.. many other files changed..
as for the RETAIL DLC folder structure,

2K Games\BioShock 2\SP\Builds\Binaries\DLC\DLC1 (Protector Trials)
2K Games\BioShock 2\SP\Builds\Binaries\DLC\DLC2 (Minerva's Den)
make sure you are using the newest xlive.dll posted by virusek too
and you must have ALL the DLC files in the folder.. including the missing ones posted by prudislav

i still can't play minerva's den. i have all the files, the missing ones, the latest xlive. what i don't have is the Protector Trials dlc (i'm not interested in that).

edit: tried with xliveless_multidlc_test1, here's the log (since the latest xlive doesn't create it)

here is the sfv of only the RETAIL SP folder with Minerva's Den in DLC\DLC1 folder..
i am using the newest xlive.dll too

if all the files match, the "Play Downloadable Content" option should be available in the "extras" menu

machine, I got your cracked .exe and lumaemu configured in the /sp folder - game won't launch though. No error msg popups, and no lumaemu.log file either. I've gotten luma emu working in the past on games like rage and sleeping dogs - not sure what's going on here. Were you able to get yours going?

just tested my cracked .exe with the newest LumaEmu(v1.12) and its working fine

ah, I see you copied vac2.dll & valveapi.dll as well - following the instructions in lumaemu.txt for 'x86 installation' didn't make mention of copying those files into the game dir as well, I only copied the files relevant to the specific game the instructions talked about.

For anyone who uses lumaEmu per machine's zippyshare upload and gets a msvcr110.dll not found error, download the VC Redist 2012 x86 (even if you're running an x64 OS) from microsoft here - installing it will let the game launch (guess 2k coded it up in visual studio 2012 but didn't include the correct redist with the game so end-users could actually play).

Thanks again machine, now everything works as it should :)

ValveAPI.dll is the original steam_api.dll renamed and VAC2.dll is not needed at all.

So Bioshock 2 has been GFWL-ridden now. The DLC should work fine with Steam versions now, no? :)

thank you. can't remember what i've done, but now it works. only problem is that it crash when it says "press space to play", but i resolved launching in dx9 mode. again thank you for your patience.

yes the new steam version has no GFWL.. and the DLC is now playable on both versions, but the folder structure varies..

if you have the original RELOADED\Razor1911 BioShock 2 scene release with GFWL, you need your game updated to v1.5 and use the new xlive.dll posted by virusek.. just follow the offtopic xlive emulator thread to get it working..
if you want the newest steam version without GFWL and full gamepad support, grab the full game posted by demde
