Receiving a msg that says:

anyway, I tried to find another crack and all, and I found 1 that made the game open and all.
Apparently whenever I try to search for rooms, it always immediately gives me that there is none.
However, if I go into multiplayer and press on Quick match, I find players immediately.

is there a way so I can brows the servers?

It's doesn't work for me. Can find any game session. Need help

1. I install Skidrow version
2. I install the update 1 from the first page
3. Extract it to FEAR 3 installation folder
4. SmartSteam then log in to my account
5. But when I start the game it said "steamclient.dll is missing... blah blah"

So I download another crack in this topic, the one named F.E.A.R.3.Multiplayer.Playable.READ.NFO-Revan.rar
Extract it to the FEAR folder, now I'm able to start the game but cannot find any game session.
So what do I have to do? Please help

NEW ADDITION: HOW TO SPLITTING PEOPLE IN 2 REGIONS
1. ENGLISH SPEAKING/EUROPE and 2. REST OF THE WORLD
(just for preventing lost connection and lag issues

IMPORTANT INFO: For playing Multi you need same Steam_appid no.

Here is new information regarding playing fear 3 online everybody, even legal owners of fear 3 can use these instructions, As there is quite few online.

But dont FEAR , there is a quite big nice playerbase of fear 3 players on tunngle, + there are simply no chat function inside fear 3 other than voice chat, so you can use tunngle for chat too.

I personally do like the tunngle community, they are a nice and is very helpfull, and i found out alot of new stuff,
but well usually newcomers go there and ask all the same questions over and over again, and since the community page linked to this page,
I thought it would be nice to post it here, the sorts of things you need to know to get started.

But whatever, here you go:


Simpel INSTRUCTION FOR LEGAL FEAR 3 USER to get to play with non-legal users:

What you need:
Full FEAR 3
Smartsteam 1.41 fix
These files http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QCM9G8F9 (thanks Areudeadyet), including 2 possibly modified exe files + update 1 files.

1. Download smartsteam (optional: Download tunngle)
2. Install programs , and if you like to meet new people then find the f.e.a.r. 3 network in tunngle.
3. Unpack OMG.rar
3. Move f.e.a.r 3 1060.exe and steam_appid.txt to:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\f.e.a.r. 3

But dont delete, overwrite or move original f.e.a.r. 3.exe

5. (optional) open steam_appid and write either "32210" (englishspeaking users mainly in europe) or "40140" (for the rest of the world, but everyone can use 40140 and might be more players)

6. Start smartsteam

7. go to view>settings>downloads+cloud> change region to germany frankfurt (might only apply to EU users), to find more players. (Dont know if this applies to America, SA or Asia)

8. (optional) To use your savefiles, Move all your Savefiles and settings with your challenge and xp progress from this folder:

C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\4662839\21100\local

To This folder

C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\4662839\40140\local *(REST OF THE WORLD)
or this
C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\4662839\32210\local *(ENGLISH USERS)

And then move them back to 21000\local folder when you want to play from normal steam again.

9. (IMPORTANT!) Start f.e.a.r.3 1060.exe from C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\f.e.a.r. 3 folder, instead of executing from smartsteam.

10. Host or Join game (If nobody host, do it yourself, and people will be coming)


INSTRUCTIONS FOR NON-LEGAL USERS.

First of all, if you dont own fear 3, you wont be able to play fear 3 with other legitimate fear 3 owners servers if they dont follow instructions above. I know this can be usefull for legal useres as there isnt really that much people playing online anyways.

So if you have difficulty finding players, join the fear 3 network on tunngle.

What you need:
Full FEAR 3
Smartsteam 1.41 fix
These files http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QCM9G8F9 (thanks Areudeadyet), including 2 possibly modified exe files + update 1 files.

I recommend doing some backup of the original files you need to replace.

Do this:
1. Install clean version of fear 3 (doesnt matter which one is used, but dont apply any crack and delete the steam client.dll in game folder if found)
2. Download the needed files from from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QCM9G8F9

(include the most important 2 exe files for ver. 1035 and 1060, update 1 files, steamapp_id (very important)) and smartsteam.

3. Install all the programs and apply the fear 3 files from the OMG.zip folder to the fear 3 game folder, but only 1 exe file should be used
(I recommend the f.e.a.r.3 1060.exe as it is the newest version and fix some connection issues and makes it easier playing with legal users).

4. (important) Open the "steam_appid.txt" file in the fear 3 folder and make sure there is written "40140" (REST OF THE WORLD) or "32210" (ENGLISH USER) in it.

5. Start smartsteam
6. (MIGHT ONLY APPLY TO EU USERS)
go to view>settings>downloads+cloud> change region to germany frankfurt ( apparently this solved alot of peoples problem so they could connect to each other, dont ask me why).

(IF YOU ARE FROM ASIA, USA OR SA, you might try use a differnt download region closer to you, but you should use the same one as those you want to play with)

7. (optional) well open tunngle and go find the f.e.a.r 3 network community, the first one, with alot of users.

8. Start f.e.a.r3.exe from your f.e.a.r. 3 folder and go host or join some games. (if nobody host, go host one yourself, since more people search than host)


Practical Info

How to remove intro:

Just go to your fear 3 folder, mine is here C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\f.e.a.r. 3\resources\Streamed, and find the LogoTrain.bik file, and eat it, crush it, or move it another place.

How to backup your savegame and usersettings files:

Notice! you are not able to exchange save files with others, because all save files are made for specific useraccounts.
You can find your savefiles at the same number as the one described in your steam_appid.txt file, which should be "40140" or "32210"

You should be able to find them here:

C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\4662839\40140\local (REST OF THE WORLD)
or here
C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\4662839\32210\local (ENGLISH USERS)

I just wanted to post some of the experience i had with fear 3, and how alot of people got it to work, and hope it helps some other.

How do i get lan to work without internet?
Usually, I go on steam online mode, turn my internet off, and play games.
With this game, if i turn my internet off, i can't start or join a LAN match with my brother.

Getting to my real point, how can I LAN with F.e.a.r3, in smart steam, with no internet?

The methods in this thread work no longer. We need a new appid. Has anyone got it to work nowadays? If so, what combination of cracks/updates you used?
