It was that one Noob's fault that coded this website and did the MySQL installation on this Server.

Because normally if you install MySQL on your server you have to set the CHM to 667 (Read Read Write) but in this case it was 777 which allows every user to see and download the SQL Dumps.

+1 all keys are now returning invaild BUT
if someone can make a launcher that would start dirt 3 the GFWL key thats generated by steam SHOULD still be valid :)


have dirt 3 installed, and using an offline account, so i tried what you said with my online live account, but it doesnt work because it wants a 5 phrase code, not a 4 :(. am i doing something wrong, or are those keys also now banned?

The code for the AMD promo is a 3 phrase code, as you put it. The code you receive from AMD is a 4 phrase code which you use to register the game in Steam. Steam then takes that code and returns a 5 phrase key ["view game CD key" in Steam].
glad i got one while the getting was good...

Whoops, 3 Million Copies of Dirt 3 Just Went Missing [Update]

Publishers Codemasters and graphics card manufacturer AMD have been running a promotion lately whereby purchasers of a card got a free copy of excellent racer Dirt 3. That offer has now been, uh, slightly expanded.

It seems Codemasters had the reserved download codes for the promo - estimated at around 3 million copies of the game - sitting on one of its webservers in plain sight, and over the past couple of days that list has been accessed and passed around, giving anyone who has seen it a free copy of Dirt 3.

While this might seem like an online looter's Christmas come early, there's a catch: the codes are Steam codes, meaning that should Codemasters (or Valve) decide to take action, all they'd need to do would be to go down the list and block the codes for the game. And that's a best-case scenario for "thieves", one that doesn't involve banning.

UPDATE - While it was initially believed that up to 3 million codes had been leaked, I've since taken a look at the master list that was lifted, and what I saw contained "only" 250,000 copies of the game. Now, I may have only seen one list, or an incomplete list, but I'm updating this here for the record anyway!

UPDATE 2 - Codemasters says it's trying to "block" hacker's access to the game.

UPDATE 3 - Reader Antipika let us know that, indeed, the list I saw was but one. He's seen 8 of them, containing a total of 1.7 million keys.

Update 4 — This comes from Codemasters, just this hot second: "You may have heard this weekend, activation keys for free Dirt 3 game vouchers shipping with a few AMD products were compromised. The keys were hosted on a third-party fulfillment agency website, AMD4u.com, and were not on AMD's website. Neither AMD nor Codemasters servers were involved.

We're working closely with everyone to address the situation. AMD will honor all valid game vouchers, but just a heads up, the current situation may result in a short delay before the vouchers can be redeemed."

I am not that big on using STEAM in general, either I came late here for this magnificent find of Dirt 3 keys an all are clock or I am entering them in a worng format??

Because I get "Invild Key" for every key that I put in, which I would assume that the keys are blocked already, I tried between 50 an 70 keys :(

An like I said I am nt that big of a STEAM user anyway, but would not mind gaming DIRT 3 if I could get a couple of legit copies.

You are out of luck mate. Valve disabled all of them.
Only people that got them registered get to keep them.

For all of you that are too late, I am sad to inform you that you are... Too Late.
I hope many of you and your friends got to register as many keys as you could fit in your pockets.
I am not going to lock this topic for the time being so feel free to talk about your experience with the keys and if any of you lost the game from their account.

The fun is officially over!

I myself unlocked 3 hehe, one for my brother, one for my gf, and one for me, yesterday wanted to unlock some more for my friends, but they were already blocked :(, anyways playing MP is funny on this :D

Well it was nice while it lasted thanks Mr.Deviance, but it seems steam has took action and removed the game from accounts. Fingers crossed the GFWL keys will still work :)
