Hi, I'm a newbie, and need some help. I have downloaded ep 1 from MegaUpload using reference from this site. episode 1 shared.gcf Put this file into steamapps. I also tried changing the name removing shared from name. I ran CF Toolbox which did download some files, CF stopped at 74%, I have tried running various steam cracks with a new steam id. I went to cs.rin update site, but don't know which version I have downloaded. Would welcome suggestions what to do next. I have read a lot of tutes, but can't understand why I can't proceeed. I also tried changing the name removing shared from name. There is no need for that. Keep the original filename or you'll run into trouble. CF Toolbox will tell you which version of the GCF you have. Then you can look for a patch to upgrade that until you have the latest one. |

valter2au wrote: Thanks, How do I install updates to gcf files please. You're welcome. To do that, right-click the GCF you wish to update -> Patches -> Apply update. If you have any other questions regarding CFT, you can use its built-in help file first.

Thanks again, I tried apply update and ctf gave error message - Error during update. The files I am working with are episode 1 shared.gcf (ctf says is outdated and is v4) the patch I am trying to apply is half life episode one 4-to-7.update.gcf After error message I ran correction and original file was ok, but stil not updated. Any suggestions welcome. -- Edit -- Please ignore last post, I'm a doofus, the penny just dropped for me. Thanks |
