Greetings! I made an attempt to look through all of the forum topics and links and didn't quite find what I was looking for so I figured that I would go ahead and post a separate thread and see what happened. Of course knowing my luck the answer is floating around here somewhere and I am just being a complete and total dumb ass and not finding anywhere, but hey, I admit to the utter failure if that is so. A friend and I picked up the cracked version of Dead Island because we wanted to test it out, play through it a little bit and see if it was worth paying the money for. That's typically what we do with cracked games, play them for a few hours for the fact that it's a reliable demo that won't fool us into the thinking the game is good and then lie to us when we go out and spend the retail money on it. Long story short, after a couple of hours on the zombie island we decided that it wasn't quite worth the money that the developers wanted for it and put it on the list of games that wouldn't be bought now that a true trial was given for it. We have a few other games that we would love to test out in a multiplayer mode to better influence the decision of a chunk of our checks and we're using SmartSteam to connect up together. My question is, is there a list of cracked games out there that are compatible with the multiplayer in SmartSteam like Dead Island is? I suppose another way of wording it is to say....is there a list out there somewhere stating what cracked multiplayer games can be played over servers on SmartSteam/Steam? Thanks to anyone who gets around to answering this for me. |

I find more often than not most multiplayer games WILL be able to be play through cracked steam. Either source games through seti or magica using a demo app id. There are exceptions (black ops and the like) but most of the time multiplayer games can be played. As for a list....? I don't know of any but I bet there is somewhere. |

Are you looking for something like this? Apparently, some other games not on that list can also be played if you have the right app ID... but Valve tends to block them eventually. |

Magicka will work on SmartSteam? That's one of the games on our list, actually. How would we go about connecting to make that work....? Ahhh, that is what I was looking for! Thank you! I am a bit surprised to see the list so very small, though. For some reason I thought it would be bigger and include Dead Island on the list as well. Is it not updated very often? So valve ends up blocking the servers or something eventually...? |

Most of the games can be played on cracked servers through various methods (depends on each game, really). |
