I don't expect them to, but it's worth a try. Nothing happens |

Ampathy said, he is in the beta...maybe he should try, but on the other hand... If normal testers could dl the dedicated server, then I bet the beta client + beta server would float around on the net already. |

If your in the beta, I am hopeful that the server will download. If your not in the beta, nothing should happen. |

man i hate this waiting and seeing patchs and tournaments of people playing, i have a loathing hate for people who got keys from comps and play and boast about it There must be something in the works for this. theres no way the crackers out there would leave this untouched |

natsukirei Considering that this game is a niche market kind of game and due to it's unique properties, crackers may not be able to do anything to this game. When I say Niche, I am not insulting the community, I am saying that this is not a game that gets the big attention like most FPS games get. BF3 is pretty much what all the major groups will be working on. That being said, the developers said, "We will go Open Beta when we have all the champions from the International in the game." Who has a list of those guys? How close are we? |

Beta due this Fall. Which means, either A, Valve broke Valve time (which almost never happens) or it will be November/December for Open Beta. |

Neither link opened any steam windows, just brought me to my library. -- Edit -- hegyak wrote: natsukirei Considering that this game is a niche market kind of game and due to it's unique properties, crackers may not be able to do anything to this game. BF3 is pretty much what all the major groups will be working on. That being said, the developers said, "We will go Open Beta when we have all the champions from the International in the game." Who has a list of those guys? How close are we? All of the heroes from the international are already in the beta, and have been since the private beta began, they've currently been adding 3 new heroes a week. At that rate all DotA heroes will be ported into Dota 2 by Feb 16th. They're still planning for a larger scale / open beta for the fall, but currently don't have the server capacity for it. From what i've been told / read, the plan is to start off giving those already in the beta "gift" copies of Dota 2 to send to friends, and open it from there. As of now the game peaks around 350 players online, and queue times range from 1-10 minutes. It's fun, but very different, and not at all my favorite game of the genre currently, there's so much that needs drastic improvement before the public gets there hands on it. Also (although I haven't scanned through the most recent update) it is 90% confirmed the game will be F2P. There are multiple stringables in the game files describing what can be purchased in the cosmetic store (new weapons, hex models, and trial to premium account (which is TF2's model)). Not to mention commands like: openstore which when used in the console opens up a store similar to TF2's, although there currently are no textures or products. There will be no LAN support, and the dedicated server files will most likely never be released (same goes for CS:GO). It's also seems to be how valve plans to combat piracy / EMUs. If anyone doubts me, here's my proof that I am indeed in the beta (traveling on my mac which is why there's no Install/Play button, since Dota 2 is currently Windows Only). |

Ampathy Piracy on a Free to Play game? How's that work? I wonder how the store items work. Will it be like TF2 where they randomly drop? Can I get these items with out paying for them (legally)? |
