Ok, the Beta will be going up in terms of players (nubs (me)) and pros (people who live it). Take the Survey and let Valve know you want in (REQUIRES STEAM) Quote: Thank you for your submission. Thanks for completing the Dota 2 survey. We'll be sending out invitations in increasing volumes over the coming weeks, and by filling out the survey you've got yourself into the pool of players we'll be pulling from. The extra data you've provided will allow us to get a wide spread of players and hardware running the game, so we can ensure Dota 2 will be an optimal experience for everyone. You will need to install the latest Steam client (the one that breaks GreenLuma) to properly fill out the survey. If you get invited, you get two more invite gifts for trading. |

eugene88 This will probably be a free game so I don't see a reason to complain too much. Better then other games *Cough* Starcraft *Cough* which cost money and have no LAN as well. The reason this game will not have LAN support is because Valve is hosting the servers and they don't want users abusing the system. |

Ok How the users are abusing the system if LAN is available (Please excuse me if I ask too much) -- Edit -- Hotchoko wrote: This link, and the other one in the official website (http://blog.dota2.com/) didn't work for me, and I was using Chrome. eugene88 In a LAN game you could have one team of players who just stand around and another team who wins unopposed. By doing this a lot, you level up too quickly/earn in game currency (?) easily. It causes an imbalance of player assumed skill to actual skill. Also, LAN games may not have a "pure" experience which Valve would want to prevent for this game since any change to the gameplay can be dramatic. There will most likely be a way to invite friends into your game though. |

I think people should give invites to Steam devs that they could "crack" it :F |

Not some random low post count user. guess you are talking about me? Is there any reason for devs to get hold of a Beta product in the first place then? To crack a Beta product? Seriously?? Man, just because I don't post in the forum that doesn't mean I don't belong here as much as you do. And I have this account ever since 2009, I just decide not to post anything because I have nothing to say in the first place |

Devs should get ahold of the CLOSED beta product, so it could be "cracked" to be available for everybody. |
