I'm really sorry if I'm asking dumb questions but I already tried by myself for a day and I can't find the answer! I have a iso of the original retail version of orange box and I used to play Portal using SMD 2.0 it was simple! It was like to play the original game on steam. So I wanted to have the same experience with Portal 2 so using the same logic I got this Portal 2 Original Backup files (6 GB) that I assume it's the original game only with a steam backup package correct? And I try to install using SMD 2.0 turns out all of this cracks do not work anymore so thanks to this foruns I tried GreenLuma 2.2.6 it loads the entire list of the games like I used to see on SMD 2.0 but I can't install this Portal 2 backup files! This is the error: The steam servers are currently too busy to handle the request. It's like it's trying to download the game! But I have the backups right here! Is GreenLuma 2.2.6 having problems too? or it's the backup? It's possible for me to install a backup like I did years before with the orange box retail iso is it not? it's the same thing only that one is a dvd and another a backup! I'm downloading another iso and it's called: Portal 2 CLONEDVD iso the notes say it's a Portal 2 steam preload what is it? the original retail version of Portal 2? like the dvd you buy from the store? So it's possible to install it on steam with GreenLuma 2.2.6 like I did with orange box? I know about the SKIDROW release but I wanted to try this 2 options before! 1 The original backup file of the game on a cracked steam 2 The original retail dvd (steam preload????) on a cracked steam. Can you guys please help me out? Sorry about anything ok and my bad english thx in advance! |

The "Steam servers are too busy" error is caused by attempting to get a game that can't be downloaded via cracked Steam. A preload is an encrypted copy of the game's data that can be downloaded prior to its official release. When the game is out, you can decrypt the files you already have. CF Toolbox is able to do that as far as I remember. Your best bet would probably be to get the files in Steam format from our content sharing section. Then you can read the Portal 2 thread to know how to play. Further questions can be posted there, also. |
