I am wondering is there a free way to use steam over proxy (or VPN) to make your IP appear as if you are in a different country (in my case I want to have polish IP)? I tried a bunch of stuff but I just can't seem to get it working. I know there are paid VPN services which work but I am interested in a free solution, if there is one of course. |

You can use Proxifier to make any application go through a SOCKS or HTTPS proxy. In theory, using it on Steam with a Polish proxy should work. |

I use proxycap to make things go through proxy. ZWT released a KG for x86-x64 verion of the latest one. Search for it. |

I'll try with proxycap now. Another question. What is the best way to search for a proxy? It's a pain in the ass just to find one (socks4/5 one). I suppose I can't use HTTPS one to make it work with steam application? |

The only working free VPN that I know of is offered by HideME.ru / inCloak.com and it's a 24 hour trial. Check Method 2 on this thread for a tutorial on how to get it to work. You can also buy games in foreign country currencies, making some games significantly cheaper than the prices in your actual country. |

There are many blogs which offer lists of SOCKS proxies for you to use. This and this are two of them. There's also Google, a query like "-country- socks proxies" or similar should yield results. Note they must be checked first. Only a portion of the ones on blogs will work. You can use a program like Charon to check the availability of proxies before using them (it won't work out of the box, so read the documentation first). Quote: I suppose I can't use HTTPS one to make it work with steam application? As far as my knowledge goes, an HTTPS proxy is a regular HTTP one that supports the CONNECT method, and hence can be used to tunnel almost everything. Steam uses UDP a lot and I'm not sure they support it, though (same goes for SOCKS4). |

Thanks .Rar and b00t. I made it to work with inCloak, that thing is great. |
