Hi I remember this tool being around here years ago, but I cant remember its name and the forums are so big its impossible to find(ive tried searching for everything i can think of but i cant remember the name of the release). Before people freak out or tell me about cracked server emulators let me explain how this tool worked. It acted as a middle man between a client and the actual steam auth server. The use of this was that it came with a config file that you could place a valid working account in and then add "dummy" accounts to it by adding usernames and passwords. When someone properly connected to your auth server emulator using one of the dummy accounts it then connected to the actual auth server using your real account info for a valid auth for the dummy account. This way you could share an account with your friends and not have them know the actual username and password. It was mostly just for playing around since you had to use a winsocks implementation to have it forward requests to your server instead of the actual auth server, or modify firewall rules/ host file trick or whatever. Anyway, i was wondering if anyone remembers this application, or can point me in the right direction? I know it existed, because i used it for a while. The reason i know longer have it is because my hdd suffered a complete failure about 2 years ago. Any help on this topic would be appreciated.

It's in the right section, although tags could have been used.

If it was posted in this forum and you have a filename, I can dig through my disks and see if I have it.

I actually remembered the name of it and found a post but the link isnt there. Its VTT-emulator, and even tho it was an emulator based on valve time trial, it would work for all accounts. Anyone have any information on a new implementation? If not, any direction on developer info on valve system logins would be appreciated. If i take long enough, im sure i can code my own implementation but i need somewhere to start because im not that skilled =/

I thought Valve had got rid of the VTT system? Anyway, here you are, it's attached. Password is "G3N3R4T10N" without the quotes.

The source code for that and something called "VTTClient" were released and I also have them, if you're interested.

Definitely interested in the source as i know the VTT system is gone now. Im gonna have to do something myself. I didnt think about the VTT system being gone at first because as i said i didnt remember the name of it. Thanks alot for your help.

Still seems to work in the same way, but i remember being able to add accounts with fake info and the emulator uses the real info. Gonna have to test it out on actual gameplay later. Was there any detailed documentation with it? I know im asking a lot, so if not its cool ill figure something out.

Besides its forum thread and what you may find within the source, I don't know.
