To celebrate the re-opening of the rin forum, I decided to finish this little plugin and then give it to all of you as a gift for the celebration.
This little plugin features :
- Patching name and name2 console variable, which allows you to set the name in game via console
- Totally disabled the auto-rename feature when you join a server (which your name get reset for every time you join a server)
However it has some limitation :
- Using this plugin will disallow you to join any secured server as I dislike any people who want to use it for cheating purpose
Where to place the file :
- After extracting the dll file from the .zip file, just place the dll in "left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons"
So how to use it :
- First launch the game with -insecure enabled (especially for people who launch the game via steam platform or using a legit account)
- After launching, type in "plugin_load addons/name_enabler.dll" in the console
- To completely remove the auto-rename feature for steam friend system, type in "PatchName" (a specific command written by me to initialize the patching process)
