Hello, i have original borderlands and it's on version 1.4.2.1 from steam. And i want to play with friend and he says that there is no crack for 1.4.2.1, so does someone know is it possible to update and crack it so i can play with him  .

Retail has not been updated in ages so 1.4.1 should be the same as steam version.

Is there a reason to crack the game? I know it uses Gamespy for Online so there's no protection there.

there is no protection, but when i invite him in game, its says that he's on outdated client and cant join.

i think he's on 1.3.x, i'll tell him to update to 1.4.1 and then we'll try.

Steam version got extra protection after they added BTest feature to it, so you better stick to retail version.
