Hey guys, I have installed hlds on linux, running it from a Live-CD via my MacBook (because my old pc does not support SSE2). It's working and I can join the servers (via Lan) with my Legit Steam Account. But I can't deal with the current RevEmu. If I follow the tutorials, I cannot get the server to start. It get's stuck by "loading map*something*" and I get no control (can't even exit the server). (I will give you the error message in detail in a few hours...) Some things for comprehension: - I NEED to crack my hlds in order to make it possible for non-legit Players to connect via Lan. (Using RevEmu, or is there a better/easier way to crack the client games?! (I own the original, legit files)) - Is there another way to crack a hlds server (on linux) than using RevEmu? I wanna play Condition Zero (HL1) but also CS:Source and TF2... One more thing: The tutorials I found say that I need to put rev.ini into the dir of "(./hlds/orangebox)/srcds_run" for HL1 as well as for HL2 games. Hope someone out there can help me. The funny thing: LAN Party is planned for today's evening Is it right, for HL1 games? Until now, I used "(./hlds)/hlds_run" for this

rev.ini in root, steamclient.so renamed steamclient_valve.so, use steamclient_glibs....so and rename it to steamclient.so

Well, that's what I did: The server gets stuck at: "Navigation Map loaded" than nothing happens. No error message, no access to run some server commands. Any idea? [Edit]
Okay, maybe I messed copying the "steamclient.so" OVER the existing... think it didn't replace it, but now i got:
"Segmentation fault" [Edit2] Well, I forgot to copy the rev.ini over Now again, the server stucks at "Navigation map loaded"[edit3] Maybe it helps: If I start the server with: ./hlds_run -port 27015 -game czero +map de_dust_cz +maxplayers 11 -> the server gets stuck "Navigation map loaded." But if I start the server without the "+map"-parameter, I get the following: "segmentation fault" BFD:warning /hlds/core is truncated: expected core file size >= 6848512,found: 1069056. Cannot access memory at address 0x***** debug.cmds:4: Error in sourced command file: Any idea? Could it be the "live-CD" ?

Yes. I installed a "standard legit" hlds server and than added the games I wanted to have on it. Up to this, all legal And now I want to prepare this server to make cracked clients able to join. But with the cracked steamclient.so, the server won't startup. This is concerning HL1. Until now, I did not try it for HL2 Games, but this will be the next step. The client cracking is also a little tricky. I get it to work with UCL2, so this will be the way. Somehow UCL2 emulates Steam. I made an extracted Standalone of Condition Zero, but it crashes, if I use the latest RevEmu. But if I take the RevEmu coming with UCL2, the hl.exe does not crash, but I get the "failed to initialize authentication interface"-error. But if I start Condition Zero using UCL2, close it, and start the Extracted Standalone after that (without closing UCL2) -> it works!
