Well the game starts, loading screen shows up and closes, not sure if its VMware workstation fault or not.

Well, not too sure what to suggest from this point on. The best I can think of is you to try SKIDROW's crack (only the crack) and apply the crackfix after that. Make sure to backup the original files just in case.

It would be a lot easier if you just had the NCF files, to be honest.

Nope, the same.. I think it doesn't launch because of the how game folders are sorted, it differs from Skidrow I believe.
Anyhow, I will repeat again, begging files from DemonStrate IS THE LAST OPTION, he is a dickhead, deal with it for now.

Meh, looking by the comments, someone wrote that it has japanese launcher, meaning the files could be already extracted just like this one.. but whats 200mb heavier inside it. Rrrr, I wish it was easy to get the backup files from DemonStrate.

8th comment. This one looks like *REAL* clonedvd (not extracted files), so there might be NCF files inside?

Useally the Retail or CloneDVD images don't have an NCF in them to prevent piracy (to a degree)

OK, these are definitely original Steam game files.

The first thing you need to do now is get CF Toolbox and check the game files' exact version.

I might be an idiot, but I can't get the GCF/NFC files listed in that tool, I specified the folder where they contain -- nothing.

EDIT: okay, nevermind, it doesn't count subfolders.



And in the Games tab it shows 0% of the game.

Also, for ease of access, could I possibly add you on some IM application?

Then yeah, these are definitely the earliest files available, make a standalone of them with this tutorial and play.
