CS.RIN.RU - Steam Underground Community

Until now I used to play games installed from retail dvd's and mainly GFWL games. Then I found out that Steam itself rewards you for playing games using that client (similar to GFWL games) and earn so called steam achievements. I am aware that there might be a thread regarding that in place already but looking for that particular topic in 3000+ steam related threads would be a pain in the ass. So I know that it is possible to crack steam (undead patch) but question is will I get achievements for playing cracked steam games, and if so, in what games. Also is it possible to play every steam game on cracked steam and if not is there a list of games that work with cracked steam client.

Thanks for reply. Ok so as far as I understand you can earn achieves if you install greenluma 2.3.9 which was actually released recently, isn't that right?
Second thing is why people so eagerly try to install and play games via steam (cracked), where it's possible to get a retail dvd version of that same game, apply a scene released crack and voilla - you're up and running. For example what's the difference between playing skidrow version of W40K Space Marine and version for cracked steam ???
Why cause yourself a big trouble by looking for ncf files, converting retail release to steam release, decrypting steam game files and so on. Might it be because of ability of playing multiplayer with greenluma installed??? I presume that this might be the case.

People prefer playing the game through Steam, because of Steam's multiple in-game/community features. Cracked Steam offers some of them, not all. It's not perfect, but it's better than paying for the game(s).

It's also a good way to "test" if a game you're planning to purchase is good or not (sometimes Steam causes problems, so you can check how it will work for you with a cracked version).

Also, obscure games. There are certain games that have disappeared from the web, but can be found on Steam and there are bigger chances for you to get your hands on the game's files.

As for multiplayer, it depends on the game. Some can be played online with various methods, others not.

Name that kind of rare games that are only available through steam.

I meant it as in games that have not been cracked due to their obscurity or their cracked versions have drowned into oblivion. If one were to simply upload the game's files, it can likely be played through cracked Steam, making things a lot easier.

Old adventure point-and-click games come to mind.

Wow that greenluma thing is just amazing. Downloaded H-L 2to check if it's working, and have to say with that game it works perfectly fine. Now I'm starting to appreciate what you guys are doing with that all steam cracking thing. It is unbelievable (1000+ games ready to be downloaded???-MAN). I'm shocked & amazed and glad that I found this forum. Weekend is close so propably will spent all that time testing and playing steam games.

Yep, got your point mate. I receive "steam servers are currently too busy, please try again in a few moments" when trying to download most of the games from list. I suppose I could wait 200 years and still Valve will not let me download anything from their servers .

Anyway I'm experimenting with greenluma and steam at the moment and even managed to launch a few games successfully like HL2 series, AvP, SHHomecoming, Dawn of War 2, Kane & Lynch 2, FEAR 2 using ncf files which is by the way quite easy procedure to do. So basically I can use steam community and so on in these games which is great. Well needless to say I'm really appreciating what you guys do and will try to contribute something to underground community one way or another. LUMA

I've tried some of them (from list) and confirm that they work. Others i've tested and do work are section 8, dead island, supreme commander 2.

Testing continues.
