Hi guys!

I just found the way how to save your game data on the new GFWL (Games For Windows Live) games.

I tested this method on Street Fighter X Tekken but I'm 100% sure that this will also work on other GFWL games like Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City etc. Which I will test after this post.

So to make this to work u will need:

- Game itself (of course)
- Real GFWL account (u don't have to own any GFWL games - u only need an account)
- You can always make another GFWL account to prevent yourself of banning but with this method u can't get banned (trust me I know)

You won't need:

- Any additional cracking
- Any coding ability
- A CD key or a bought copy of the game

So let's start....

1. Install the game (if you haven't yet) and put the crack if needed.
2. If you did that already - disconnect yourself from the Internet. (YOU MUST BE OFFLINE THIS WHOLE TIME)
4. Now when you are offline you can start the game.
5. When you open up your game it will ask you for (your) GFWL account and then CD key.

So let's give it what it wants.
Put your (real) GFWL info when asked and then the game will ask you for the CD key. (Now you just put some random letters and numbers and press [Submit])
Now you will be signed-in in Offline-mode and your game progress will be saved.

7. That's it - you're done. You can now connect yourself back Online and you don't have to do this anymore.
8. Every time you open up the game it will or might ask you for your GFWL account and the CD key just skip all that by pressing ESC.
9 Have fun playing with saves!

THIS WILL NOT GIVE U THE ACCESS TO MP/COOP MODES THIS IS JUST TO MAKE SAVES TO WORK ON THE NEWEST GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE GAMES

EDIT: Tested this on REORC and this method WORKS!

BTW I forgot to mention on the step 5 that after signing in it will give you in-game error saying that (GFWL couldn't connect to Network ..... and it will show you 2 buttons [OK] and [NETWORK STATUS] just press OK and then ESC).
PROFIT!

And ones again if you like it then BUY THE GAME to support the devs!

EDIT 2: If some of you guys (like me) want to play this games with gamepad but you don't own the XBOX360 controller then here is the "emulator" that makes the game think you are playing with X360 pad. This works with all controllers/games.

Just put the files in your game folder next to (yourgame.exe).

No this will NOT give you the access to MP/COOP. This is just to make saves work on new GFWL games.

Interesting read..... well I found a way to backup saves for Batman Arkham City as well as Arkham Asylum using a unlocker for Batman Arkham Asylum, I also used the unlocker to backup my saves for Bullet Storm.

i don't understand if this methods works online and if we can play multyplayer features (sorry for my bad english but i'm italian)

Well I'm glad u did!

Maybe if we give that UNLOCKER to devs so maybe they could make an GFWL Save Backup Retriever or something. So with that app we can (do that same thing) to all GFWL games. If you know what I mean.

But my method might be a little bit easier since u only have to disconnect and put real info and some random key and that's it.

He is talking about backing up your save game progress for said G.F.W.L. games, you idiot, in the event you might have to restore your system or re-install Windows an the pirated game that requires G.F.W.L. , which you cannot save your game progress officially with pirated games that require G.F.W.L. because you have no valid CD-KEY.




Yeah.... the method worked for me I was able to play Bullet Storm, Arkham City & Asylum from my previous saved game point when I restored my C-Drive an re-installed all the above said mentioned G.F.W.L. games, I think I was also able backup my saves for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition using that method.

I will have a crack at your method thou..... if it's easier, hope you work out any bugs in your method so hat it's fool proof, will try it later an let this thread knows how I did.

If you want the unlocker that helped me backup for above mentioned games I will post it, if you want

Well I'm glad that some one appreciates this "method" and yes this is much easier because u don't need any other additional program.



Like SaberWolf said with this method u can use cracked (NEW GFWL) games like you own it which means that you can play and save/backup without problems or addition cracking or apps.

you can backup your offline saves too by your self

For some reason, this doesn't work for me. Once the Network Error pops up, I click OK and it doesn't sign me in offline. I tried this with Batman Arkham City. Anybody knows what's going on?

some gfwl games can be played on lan or on tunngle. Is it possible to play street fighter x tekken on lan?

oh hey, i didn;t think this would be a real problem lol!

well ive been playing all my Windows live games without needing any extra DLL's or cracks appart from the one .exe file

its pretty simple really, when the game loads just click create offline account (you would need the games for windows live installed), just enter a name some random info and click OK. i was not even offline when i did this!

i have not had to change or enter a new user profile in 3 years :O only install, table comes up with offline profile i click ok and its done....

i assure you i do not own or have ever owned any games for PC, so i dont have an account anywhere! lawl!

some people just fail to install the windows live add on properly or cant see the offline button :O

game i originally started with years ago : Batman arkham asylum
and it worked with STRXTEK, RE, BulletStorm arkham city and a bunch of other GFWL games....

I have a better method you just need to download, install and register Tinker it's one of the free games available on the marketplace after this you'll be able to save and it will even record your achievements progress in your online profile I don't own any of these games but I every time i start tinker my stats are updated

Wow! can you explain a bit more how you did that? and does it work with newer gfwl games?

Download the game using the GFWL Marketplace application and write down the key


You'll get a legit GFWL key with this free game, install it and do everything it asks (patches, key registration, login ecc) in order to play online.

Once you are able to play it online all you need to do to save in the other cracked games is pressing esc or the home key when they ask for the GFWL key. Using this method you will get all the Achievements and every time you start Tinker the stats of all your games will be updated and uploaded to GFWL.
