I just updated Far Cry 3 from v1.02 to v1.05... Saves are still working

Could someone fix my FC3 saves so that I can update my game to more recent version if possible? Mine is still v1.01(DX11) and I tried to fix them myself with FC3 Save Helper but for some reason they still won't load. Thanks a bunch. ps My first post here so hi to all.

Your saves do not work in v1.01 DX11 reloaded version of the game when I tried. So it indicates to me your saves are faulty before you even started trying to update your game. If you can't load the save in at least one version of the game then it can't be fixed full stop. There is no magical trick. The save helper does nothing special. In other words, if you can load your save in a version of the game: Set the game to Load encrypted and save decrypted. Start your game and load your save, then once in game hit F9 to manual save. (at this point your game save is saved decrypted) ........ If you can't even get this far then you already had problems with your saves before you even started and there is no fix. Update your game and start a new game. The size of your saves is 34kb, so this suggests you didn't get that far in to the game. |

Hmm that's weird they load fine in my game I don't know why. But thanks a lot anyway for taking your time to try to fix them:) I think I'll stick to 1.01 and finish the game then. |

If that's the case that you can still load those saves..1) Run FC3_Save_Helper and load your FC3_d3d11.dll. 2) Set the Load group as Encrypt and Save group as Decrypt and hit Patch button 3) Launch your game and load your save, hit F9 to manual save, go to a Vending machine and sell or buy something so it Auto saves, then exit the game. (Both your Manual and Auto saves should now be decrypted and your game will not see the saves anymore ftm) Post the decrypted saves and I'll take a look. In the meantime while I look at your saves you can set your game load decrypted and save decrypted and your game will see your saves again. Once I've had a look at your decrypted saves I'll advise further. |

SUCCESS!This time I followed your advice to the letter and it worked!I must be dumb enough not to follow your readme properly last time I tried, sorry. Anyway thank you so much for this smashly, the game is now patched up to v1.05 and encrypted save loads just fine now! I can't tell you how happy I am mate:)Cheers |

Virusek once again for the rescue  Uplay name changer (wrapper dll) you can use cracked or original uplay_r1_loader.dll renamed to _uplay_r1_loader.dll, and change name in inifile ! (ie. you can use Uplay too, not only RLD shitty cracks, they even missed one argument to UPLAY_USER_GetCredentials ...) Re-encrypting save files should be now easier.

Tried it with Uplay/Steam006 and it works fine in the brief I tested. (I haven't tested it saving or Reloaded version yet). You may want to post a link to the required MSVCP 2012 runtime to use your wrapper. http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download ... x?id=30679 Only suggestion I'd have: 1) Instead of storing the name in uplay_r1_loader.ini, store it in orbit_api.ini. My logic for this is if a user is using Reloaded version of the game then orbit_api.ini already exists for GameID. I already changed your wrapper to point to orbit_api.ini with a crude hex edit. Since I often change between both Uplay and Reloaded version when testing out stuff, it's just one less file. No big deal, just my preference. 2) Write it in nasm so it's not dependent on MSVCP 2012 redist or write it an earlier version of C/C++ that most pc's will already have the runtimes installed. I was actually surprised I didn't have MSVSCP 2012 redist (MSVCP110.dll) installed considering how many newer games I have installed and I always install the newer redist files that come with games. Not one of my current games comes with MSVCP 2012 redist. (eg: Tomb Raider, Crysis 3, Far Cry 3 ..etc) I imagine there will be some posts with users saying "I tried your wrapper and I get an error that MSVCP110.dll is missing." I would like to include your wrapper in my next FC3-SH tool (if permission is granted), but I don't like the idea of it being dependent on a 6.25MB vcredist_x86 (17MB installed) library that some will have and some won't. I was only a day or so off releasing my next FC3-SH tool, but I'll hold off a bit longer now  Regardless, nice effort and thank you once again. |
