Hi , can someone help me perhaps? iv'e read'ed the posts but i'm not clearly anymore sure if i can play Dota 2 Lan without the internet , since my friends doesn't own the game , and most of them doesn't have uncapped internet (and Dota 2 takes a lot of megabytes per game) we would like to play over lan at Lan Parties , is there a way? , and one more question every time i start steam then try to connect to my Dota 2 server it still says i need Steam required?

So now I've got some of the things working. But I've seen other methods who don't use a few commands like sv_cheats 1 or dota_bot_disable 0 or dota_bot_set_difficulty 3. If I don't put sv_cheats 1, server says I can't use the commands dota_bot_disable and dota_bot_set_difficulty. I'm not supposed to be able to get bots when I use dota_start_ai_game but I get bots with highest difficulty. How is this possible? Can you please explain which commands need to be present in the cfg or command line?

I am pretty sure you didn't read through the thread ... the title is Dota 2 offline lan and people said it is working so yes, you can play dota2 without internet and without an invitation (cd key) and yes you still need steam but u can start it offline mode. I ve tested it and ran the server and a game on a network without any internet connection -- Edit -- Rupam89 wrote: Rogash wrote: - no UI till the official update that includes the lan section in game, you will still have to use the console or the mapledota2 toolkit (it has a jointeam button if u want) - as for spectators, private games dont have delays on spectators. Mapple launcher already have english version, take a look at the topic, author of the launcher did a translation, also seeking for translators to localize it.
Mapple launcher just install metamod and sourcemod instead you and you can use menus to set the command line, you can't play multiplayer without steam, but you can always play with bots and offline for now.
On other side, author of dota 2 fixups said he will do a protection against emulators, pointless as for free game, but thats my opinion anyway.

Can anyone post the link to mapledota2lantoolkit english version?
-- Edit --
Also, after the latest update, i tried the same procedure to run dota 2 server, it crashed... After loading a lot of stuff, it just closes unlike earlier when it would show number of players and map name on top. Now it just crashes. Any solution?

Any news from the tool creator ?! The tool does not work anymore after the last update . I checked the Chinese site , but the last version was 1.6 ( which is old and does not work with the new update ) .
