We both can see other games but not each others, they just never show up in the list. In addition we see completely different games on crime.net so i'm assuming the game simply pulls a random set of games for each player

If someone can CONFIRM that inviting through steam overlay works then at least we have a solid starting point, because right now if we try to do that we instantly get 'error joining game'. Almost like it doesn't even try to connect it just immediately fails
Do we need to port forward? in which case what ports does the game use?



this may seem like a silly question, but did you try setting the filters to "Worldwide"? i see ALOT more games when i do that

yep that right, but when you are chose this option you may pick a very far lagy game.

Ok so an update for those having issues with gettings friends to join

First and foremost, make sure you are both running the same version
Second, port forwarding should NOT be necessary as this game uses a central server to establish the connection. However if you are on some bizarre network then open port 9899. In general you should only have to do this if you can't play with 'anyone', not just friends
If you are running windows 7/8 ensure your network adapter (wireless, 3g, ethernet, whatever) is in the Home/Private network section. Look at this by opening control panel, then network and sharing center. If it's on public, change it to home. If it's stuck on public/unidentified network then you need to manually assign an IP and default gateway (google search for how to do it)
Then, Disable any 3rd party firewalls you have (norton, zonealarm, whatever) but most importantly Check the Windows Firewall!
If the windows firewall has a problem, this game will not work with friend invites. If the firewall gets corrupted it will block certain traffic by default. In which case run this tool http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details ... epair.html
Go through the tabs until you can start it, then tick Windows Firewall AND everything that mentions 'firewall' in the description. You may need to do this 2 or 3 times between restarts.

Only once your windows firewall is successfully repaired will it work.

In addition to the above, make sure you are running Steam WITHOUT Greenluma. Also make sure you are on the latest version. Remember to block future steam updates to avoid the disabling of your Greenluma should you wish to use it for other games.

yep that right, but when you are chose this option you may pick a very far lagy game.


i have VERY shitty internet and have found that i can host and join fine to all servers... never had any lag, was actually really impressed by that. i usually cannot host any game because of my internet connection. but i played with people in europe, usa and australia in one game no lag at all

The beta just updated again, anybody got the modified files?

1. Fix for Team AI not exiting hurt action when downed

2. Sniper AI shooting through roof fixed (thanks for all the screenshots!)

3. Van collision fixed on Jewelry store

4. Added new animations for rifle 870

5. Fixed some civs not reacting to gun fights in the Four Stores

6. Moved some windows in Four Stores that kept messing with collision

7. LOTS of Anti Cheat fixes. Not all but we are getting there :)

8. Fixed Civilians that could not be bagged

9. Fixed outline for pager so that it does not stay after being used

10. Fixed Crash when dropping into a game while the was host interacting with pager

11. FEATURE: Player Menu Action. You can now see what the other players are browsing while you wait in the planning phase

12. FEATURE: To kickstart the game we added a player starter kit for mods. You now have a pistol silencer and a rifle extended mag to play with at the get go

13. The Good Luck Charm was tweaked to better drop infamous items

14. Removed Level Limit for EXP and just calculate your EXP dependant on your current level. Much more fair without breaking the game with power leveling.

15. Collision fixes in the Kung Bo store (you guys have been EVERYWHERE :))

16. Added some more randomness to Jewelry Store

17. Fix for team AI getting stuck in the chill out pose for too long (no, not even they are this cool)

18. Tech skill Rifleman ACE tweaked to ZOOM in more than before

19. Mastermind skill JOKER - life of the police units is now balanced

20. Masterman LEADERSHIP BASIC/ACE tweaked to give more recoil dampening effect than before

21. Electric Center is now infamous, because it's fun. You WILL miss this :)

22. Players interaction is not auto interrupted on drop-in (solves issue where the alarm goes off cause a pager interaction is interrupted or lock picks get aborted)

23. Tweaks to make the games difficulty more balanced. Normal is easier OVERKILL is harder.

24. Initial Police response on Jewelry store is now dependant on the difficulty. They WILL also use the siege behavior more. Try it.

25. FEATURE: Decrease Mouse lag/Overheating slider is now in the advanced video options. This will give frame rate and decrease mouse lag if you find the right setting for your computer. Don't mess with this if you are not having any problems.

26. BIG ONE! The LOOT DROP system is now tweaked to drop much more towards the level of weapons available to you. Also more weapons drop than masks or money.

27. MONEY drops now have their own CARD. Also, the money drops are more valuable if you are in luck.

28. More masks were added

29. Optimized the network traffic to be lest tasking for larger coop sessions.

30. Made Normal level heists pay out a little more money to get you started and not make prices too steep in the start of your career.

31. Fixed all weapon animations to fit with the new maximum FOV slider setting.

32. Fixed Sprint animations to work with maximum FOV

33. Fixed issues with bus doors on Rats being closed on some drop in players

34. Added windshield breakage to cars

35. Made the invite system less prone to drop invites in the boot up of the game

36. Added a Updates news ticker to the bottom left corner of the main menu. Uses announcements from PAYDAY 2 gamehub (5 latest)

37. Moved menu item help texts to the upper right corner

38. Changed name of menu option to go to crimenet from lobby (Choose new contract instead of Crime.net). This when you already have a lobby up.

39. Small rearrange of menu options in lobby menu to match main menu, also added dividers for spacing

40. Depth of Field help text in start menu bug fix.

41. Fixed that occasionally the mask pattern icon will be on top of all of the message texts when entering the inventory

42. Reduced the chance of infamous drops (yep :))

43. Network fix for host dropping "connection_established" message if it arrives before it has finished loading

44. Solved the conflict when multiple users interact with the alarm pager simultaneously

45. Fixed a rare crash on clicking the contract box in CrimeNet

46. Added a Back button in options

47. Added Images of all Mods, Weapons, Masks and items in the "you got a new X" prompt. Much sexier.

48. The Skill icon is now always showing in wallet (when you got skillpoints)

49. The black borders after changing the resolution is now gone and fixed

50. Resolution menu now shows which is the current resolution

51. Crime.net is now showing the state of the host to let you know if it a game is in session or waiting for joins

52. RISK LEVEL is now correctly represented by YELLOW SKULLS - and they are added to the Black Screen to psyche you up before the heist :)

53. Sound updates to the intro and attract videos

54. FEATURE: You can now Terminate a ongoing contract from the menu if the server wants. This will allow the PARTY not to split up after a failed heist and try something else.

55. The AK rifle is now unlocked at level 1 to give starting gangs a variety of choice and make more sense with how the weapon mods now drop.

56. Fix for some animations that freeze when not in peripheral view

57. Improved the look of the body armor

58. Police now better at turning around when alerted

59. Fixed glitch in how many police that could be intimidated at once.

60. Fix for ECM Overdrive travelling too far and through statics


61. Menu dialogs to show save game loaded from other user and loaded wrong version (instead of corrupt)

62. Fix for player landing sound using wrong material

63. Fix for slow-mo sound effect getting stuck if restarting a level during slow mo

64. Fix crash when being detected by a cop and automatically put on mask while in slow motion

65. Added more fixes for dynamic deployables such as ammo bags and health bags.

66. RATS - Chemicals should no longer be able to pickup from the outside of the house

67. RATS - Bain will play the wrong dialogue when player completes the heist.

68. RATS - Player is no longer able to throw meth on top of a tree making it inaccessible.

69. RATS - Fixed Unresponsive AI gang member.

70. RATS - Fixed gun sounds when the cooks get shot

71. BANK - Officers in police car should now dissapear on drop in

72. BANK - Cuffing the survailence guard now disables the cameras ( only death before )

73. JEWELERY -Fixed animation link for enemies in back alley

74. JEWELERY - Fixed invisible safe (NO it was not a secret.. Ilija was just very tired....:))

75. SAFE HOUSE - Player cannot get the money bag stuck and prevent progression

76. SAFE HOUSE - Money bundle in the tall safe is now easier to pickup and doesnt require crouch

77. FOUR STORES - Windows in 'The Pear Store' now connect with the wall

78. FOUR STORES -Fixed stores window for Smoother jump troughs

79. AI tactics tweak to make them storm you a bit less when you are weak and hold of when you are strong (remember to tie those civs down ppl - it will slow down the Assault)

People seem to be getting "Subscriber do not own game" error after this last update
