I feel the other way around. Maybe we are not talking about the same game...

One question: The PPT release is lacking some files that were present in the original RLD release + FTS updates, namely these:

  1. ADVGame\CookedPCConsole\SP-02-SaharaOutdoor_CS1.upk
  2. ADVGame\CookedPCConsole\SP-02-SaharaOutdoor_CS1_LOC_INT.upk
  3. Binaries\Win32\ADVCommunityServer.exe
  4. Binaries\Win32\binkw32.dll
  5. Binaries\Win32\WindowsTools.dll

Are these files still present in an up-to-date legit steam installation?

I also would request a hash of this file:

  1. ADVGame\Config\DefaultPlaylist.ini

Thanks in advance!

The PROPHET's nfo doesn't tell us if the game is updated to the latest version available. Now, seeing PROPHET's history of releases, i can safely 'assume' that it is updated. But i gotta ask for confirmation ... is it?

The snatcher, even if i do not have it on Steam, i unpacked and repacked a lot of that game files for translation, and i can maybe tell you something about them...

About the first 2 files (*.upk) they surely are no more needed... the last update changed some moment of the game a lot, and this is one of them... when you
Spoiler
arrive at the very first entrance of the Temple, they removed the fallen statue that was blocking it and that you need Dynamite to go ahead...
The corresponding video obviously do not trigger and those files had the audio (and subtitles) for that video only...

Those 3 files in the Binaries folder were already missing in the .SFV ( download/file.php?id=16248 ) posted by machine together with the Feb. Update.
Windowstool.dll usually i saw it installed by UE3redist, so i really don't understand why it was there... The bink Logo does not appear anywhere in the game and then also the
presence of its own .dll IMHO was a residual of debugging or something else... but anyway i moved both of these files in a subfolder without problems.
The .EXE is only needed to launch Dedicated servers, so i guess that in a Steam owned game it's present, but looking at most of the PPT release they usually cut out most
of the MP features and (at least for my low knowledge fo this game) MP was not working with cracked client anyway... I wonder if they also removed the folder
'Dedicated Server Script' then...

About the .INI i have only the one "by machine", it's 9223 bytes and its CRC32 it's the same that you can find in the .SFV i linked just above...
...by the way... it's a lot different from the one originally released (if that one is your doubt), but it's just a list or music played during MP matches... useless...

I hope that some owner on Steam of this great FPS game will tell you more (...if there's...)

For the moment... C U around
Clay

Many thanks for this profound explanation clay65, I guess I don't need any additional information from a legit game owner now... Thanks again!
