Quote:
Garrett, the Master Thief, steps out of the shadows into the City. In this treacherous place, where the Baron’s Watch spreads a rising tide of fear and oppression, his skills are the only things he can trust. Even the most cautious citizens and their best-guarded possessions are not safe from his reach. As an uprising emerges, Garrett finds himself entangled in growing layers of conflict. Lead by Orion, the voice of the people, the tyrannized citizens will do everything they can to claim back the City from the Baron’s grasp. The revolution is inevitable. If Garrett doesn’t get involved, the streets will run red with blood and the City will tear itself apart.
Garrett never paid the price for anything… until now.

definitely abit early lols , hope they change the stealth attacks that go into third person ala deus ex hr if you ask me a horrible concept and the person that invented it should be shot where he stands, and return them to first person as should be, , ugh , atleast looking around corners wont put you into 3rd person animation anymore another gameplay "feature" from dx hr, lols , wonder if climbing a ladder puts you into third person as well this time around , and from what ive heard jumping from rooftops is supposed to be like a quicktime event , why, well cause they didnt want garrett to look pathetic whilst dropping to his death from a missed roof jump apparently , what a lame ass excuse
"Jumping is now a context- sensitive action" lmfao
the more crap i read the more it feels like a dx hr clone to me, i can only hope this changes
Dude, what the hell are you saying??? DE:HR in its previews was much better a game than Thief is. Even the previewers were loving it as opposed to now in the case that most previews of Thief are negative.
im talking gameplay wise smartass ,not content wise, after watching those 3rd person stealth takedowns it reminded me ALOT of dx hrs crappy 3rd person finishers , wouldnt be suprised if they used some of dx hrs combat ideas on thief
and yes dx hrs previews had better reviews but thats only cause all of the pr bullshit , sure i liked dx hr , but let me be honest with you guys it sure as shit wasnt a original deus ex as in its old days on release , i expected full body awareness and no 3rd/first person mix crap with a floating head and arms the rest are yet to be found , lols , i had to avoid using
ladders or takedown moves or looking around corners prompts , in order to stay immersed, other than that , draging dead bodys per telekinesis so it would seem and the crappy bossfights it was a pretty decent game oh and not to mention the unoptimized crappy ass graphics with playstation 2 cg quality rendered cutscenes , thanks to boriss enb tweaks i was atleast able to finish the game with out getting eye cancer
and about dishonored? if itd only had the freedom and gameplay of dishonored , thief is a freakin joke in its current form from what wheve seen and heard and it really breakes my heart as an original thief fan , square really seems to know how to fuck up good IPs as of late thats for sure and thats just a damn shame, but who knows maybe as said theyll realize theyre fuck up and change all the crap theyve done , wishful thinking perhaps , we shall see ,it just had to be said , my 2 cents
There was no PR bullshit there. After Invisible War failed badly and Eidos Montreal being a new team, the people were very skeptical about the game. They literally had nothing going for them and everyone assumed it would bomb. But then the game actually turned out to be great and reached the greatness of DE in many ways. If anything it was even worse than Thief.
Wait, did you use combat through out the game? You do know that it's entirely possible to ghost through the game and its much easier than the old thief games of which you are a fan! The full body awareness issue is something that bothers me as well but then I think we're starting to see more and more companies adopt it which is a good thing.
Anyway, prompts, any outlines and other stuff had options to disable them. Also in a few ways, it was much better than original Deus Ex. The hacking min-game and not to mention more variety of non-lethal weapons. It didn't have the freedom or open levels of DE but then again, no game unless it is made for PC can go back to that era of freedom.
It will be funny when many assholes create trainers in the future. And i want to say... Before and After release day i will report every uploaded version. I call it my own Revenge for 2
