Page 1 game didn't work for me(no offence to anyone) Yes, I'm using the REVOLT release with update 4 too and all's working flawlessly, no other patches or LumaEmu / RevEmu needed. Thanks to bongsmoke1989 and REVOLT! EDIT: @GaNi I've downloaded your Insurgency release from the Gaming eXtreme thread and the installer crashes when clicking on install with exactly the same error message displayed for the standalone patch crash. Faulty module is again the inject.dll... What do you think, why is it impossible to run both of your installers on my system properly? I really don't know what specific factors the installers depend on, but it seems as if some of my system's parameters prevent a correct installation start. I'm at the point that I become really interested in what's going wrong... For the windows theme, I use no special customization, just a diashow of 10 pics swapping hourly. Stopping the unchecky service resolves the error, now everything runs fine! Ok please can someone help me. I have downloaded the game from the links on the first page and then installed update 4 on top of that. I have also tried the other download links for insurgency with update 3 included. I'm not sure if this is correct but it installs a french exe icon called LANCEUR TAKEDOWN INSURGENCY. No matter what I do I cannot get the game to launch. I keep getting the steam must be running error message. I did install the sp patch earlier today and that make another version of the game I downloaded last month work but I want to use server browser via steam.
MY STEPS WERE
Download game as per this forum. Install game.
Copy over the update 4 also downloaded from this forum.
Forwarded port 27015 as I want to host as well.
Change steam_app_id file to something else
Add non steam game to steam (selected the Lanceur takedown insurgency.exe.)
Ran game, got to logo, and got error message about steam must be running.
The only thing I have no tried yet would be the Standalone patch on this version of the game.
Please assist thanks!

just install Insurgency.Incl.Update.3-REVOLT and Insurgency.Update.4-RVTDOX launch steam and then launch the game. that is all you have to do, don't know why your fucking around with the appid at all.

At first sorry for my rude post, it's simply so that working app_ids only stay working as long as valve doesn't patch them away, so it's better to keep them secret because trust me, valve is aware of this forum for sure. Now to your problem: The simplest way is to proceed like bongsmoke1989 mentioned and to pay attention that both the game EXE and the steam.exe aren't firewalled. You don't have to add the game to steam or change the appid, just start steam and then launch the game. If this doesn't work, try the standards like running as admin or in compatibility mode. You can certainly try out GaNi's Gaming eXtreme release with the standalone patch v1.0, this'll give you the choice of cracking the game either with LumaEmu or RevEmu, both are working well. Just install the game, launch the standalone patch, choose the emu and your username, point at the game installation directory and you're good to go. Note that you don't need steam running using this method. guys, big news for my servers: i am running latest official update (Molotov Spring v1.1.6.3) with original APPID, so players with original game can play but we cen play too  . Only problem is that crcked version can't see my servers in server browser. BUT if u want to play type "connect 85.207.22.3:25015" or "connect 85.207.22.3:26015" without a quotes, i'm running 2 coop servers because they are full of players

A new update has been released!
Insurgency.Update.7-RVTDOX
Is there a solution to play WITHOUT Steam (needed since 'cracked' update 5).
Until update 4 Steam was not needed, an emulator did the job.
