The Witcher is an action role-playing hack and slash video game developed by CD Projekt RED and published by Atari. It was based on a polish book.
There are still no posts about this here so i wanted to do it. And with witcher 3 wild hunt soon to be released i will get this somewhere and play, since i've never finished it the 1st time i played.

Game came out 2007 probably why there's no thread about it lol...The 1st one had a nice story ...I actually enjoyed the 2nd one in gameplay but the plot got way too confusing for me... There is a witcher 2 thread though.. I just hope the 3rd game thats supposed to be like skyrim doesnt have the horrible studdering issues like Witcher 2 had... I had to put in a Dx9 file in the folder to get it to run a playable framerate witch causes the game to look a little ugly

Sttutering in witcher 2 lol, i played it full long time ago but had no issues at all, was smooth. bet would play fine for you with today's hardware.

As we all know, update 1.5 removed the DRM from the game. Even though that may be the case, if we install the game from the discs, we end up installing the TAGES driver anyhow. There are two solutions to this...
1. Recreate the disc image without the TAGES driver installer.
or
2. Remove the TAGES driver after the fact. Here's a tool I wrote a while back, thought I might share it here.
Have both of them. I didn't have the time to try them yet.
Back in 2007, this forum was not what it looks like now. Most of the posts concerned Steam directly and Valve's games. Main section was not organized with game-based threads. Furthermore, I don't know if people still want to use steam to pirate stuff. Steam Emus are far less annoying and are used on all w4rez boards.
Things changed, but I do not regret it. Steam games are now really cheap, you just have to wait a few months to get them. If, back in the days, CSS was at 3€ like CS:GO during the winter sales, this board weren't so successful.

You're probably right, but I - I speak only for my person - am quite poor since I lost my job and I can't afford the money even for cheap titles most of the time, so I'm really glad and thankful about the existence and popularity of this board...
With some of the Steam sales (even though I hate not owning physical retail copies with boxes and manuals, maps, etc.) being so cheap, I have been picking up some of the games I got from questionable methods over the years and adding them to my official library. I picked up the The Witcher and The Witcher 2 during that free weekend last month for $6 and what is nice that you can activate the Steam keys on GOG and get a DRM free copy as well.

Also i must say that after i've downloaded this game again and played it i remember why i have never played it for long the first time around, the gameplay is atrocious, i can't stand it, witcher 2 is awesome.
Maybe they join the remaster's bandwagon and release a remastered version with witcher 2 gameplay...
