PLOT: The ultimate HD edition of Resident Evil™ 4 is heading for PC digital download on Steam® globally and available as a retail version for Windows PC in Europe. PC gamers will be able to play the groundbreaking survival horror masterpiece in the highest visual fidelity ever with stunning HD running at a smooth 60 frames per second for the first time.
Resident Evil 4 will include Steam platform support with Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Trading Cards, global leaderboards, and full game controller support. ABOUT GAME: In Resident Evil 4, special agent Leon S. Kennedy is sent on a mission to rescue the U.S. President's daughter who has been kidnapped. Finding his way to a rural village in Europe, he faces new threats that are a departure from the traditional lumbering zombie enemies of the earlier installments in the series. Leon battles horrific new creatures infested by a new threat called Las Plagas and faces off against an aggressive group of enemies including mind-controlled villagers that are tied to Los Illuminados, the mysterious cult which is behind the abduction.

I don't want to be destructive: for me this is a nice surprise, I absolutely LOVED re4 and I appreciate that Capcom wants to give pc users a decent version. Well, even if various mods exist this will be much better than original vanilla release. It's probably the hd version released some time ago for ps3 and xbox360. Note: that video is crappy as hell, they used low-res clips

sad thing is after so many version, there still isnt a definitive version because this one is based on the HD PS3/360 ports, missing bump maps and lots of special effects from the gamecube.

Those versions are based on the gamecube one, including its lighting effects. It's already much better than previous PC version that was based on the ps2 one. I heard about some missing effects but without image comparison a user really cannot understand...

I just hope that it will have proper controls this time around, at least ones that make the game playable without having to download 100 mods and patches...

game will be properly playable only with a gamepad, as it was always meant to be, including its traditional clunky aim. Don't raise your hopes too high
