myloch wrote: I still think that the texture patch v2.0 by Albert Marin Garau (albert / vegitto) for the Sourcenext version is better I really hope that it could be a "REAL" HD rework, and not just a retexturing port. The real problem in the old one was that it could not support in an easy way an elevated number of polygons in the model rendering, so, if they won't work on it, the game will become more or less just like the combination of already existing MOD that myloch is talking about. I still remember in my only "serious" work in modding a weapon for RE4, i had to cut down a lot the number of its polygons (near to half of what i'd have liked to do...), cause elsewhere it was causing lag or even freezing on some weak PC/CPU/GPU, 'cause of one of the worst engine optimization that we could see at those days. So... if they won't redo an actualization of the core engine (...and i really doubt a lot that they'll do...), the game will be the usual "HD Flop" that we're seeing in the last few months/years... BUT... as long as we won't see an official HD video recorded "in-game" (no cutscenes bullshit, i mean...) it's surely too early both for being enthusiastic and for being pessimistics... Let's just hope for the best... |

Wii version is still the best version. Especially when played on Dolphin. |

Let's summarize what has been officially announced by capcom staff about this game, just to avoid confusion and misinformation: -60 fps instead of 30 -more polygons for the characters and enemies: older pc version was a straight port of ps2 version, this one got the polygons numbers of the gamecube version. -lighting effects of gamecube version, older pc version didn't use dynamic lighting. -higher resolution textures for characters, ambients and hud -realtime cutscenes instead of crappy videos, just like the gamecube/wii -full and proper support for keyb+mouse -extra game modes from ps2 version (including pre-rendered videos) ps3,xbox360 and (probably) the pc HD versions are missing gamecube's specific hardware effect "specular highlight" and dof. Note these effects are very few, mostly some monsters looking more slimey and a shitty Depth of Field effect during cutscenes. The rest is intact or very well approximated that you won't notice the difference, people are whining way too much since the ps3/xbox360 release in 2011. |

Specular mapping and dof effects are available in the dolphin emulated version and Capcom programmers are not able to use them

My Self-selected. Without Sweet FX/ENB and other external effects. While this may not be pretty, it will... https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B4JsIf-7OIY6akZ3ajhWSXM5QWM |

Really eye-catching! |

Is it worth downloading this game again? I still have the crappy version on my computer.... Unless they fixed the mouse and Keyboard issues? They should have just given everyone who have the old version a free copy or a free update to this version....... |

If the new version is gonna be only a slightly polished remake of the one from 2005, than I agree fully with you, but if the devs have put a lot of new efforts and ideas into the upcoming version, than it's ok to request some money for the improved game imho. Whatever, it'll be pirated anyway and we'll grab it! |

You can widescreen the GC version through Swiss-GC and DM/DML (its pretty much the Swiss hack, i belive) in Gamecube, Wii or Dolphin and its a pretty decent WS (infinite times better than the bland Dolphin WS hack). |
