Yes, my mistake.
It is equal to DirectX9 in terms of level.

I have the 4870

is DX10.1 and shadermodel 4 & openGL 2.1

So new GFX needed.

yes our FTS update 1 is a xdelta patch which is why the update is much smaller.
and after install, the updated files match 100%.

Radeon 4000 series supports up to OpenGL 3.3

if it didn't that would mean RAGE wouldn't run on that series of cards and i know it does.

Got a retail copy of the game but Steam only installs 71% of the files off the discs (4). With no .sim file, can't use Phoenix to extract the archives, so would anyone mind explaining how I would go about extracting the .csd and .csm files? I checked out libcache tool but even after installing vcredist_x64, I still get the missing MSVCR110.dll error. Would sisinstall work?

Upload the sku.sis file from the retail disc.

You can play at more than 60FPS.
In console type
toggle com_synctotime

Launch parameters with
+toggle com_synctotime

ah, cool to know, though 60fps is plenty for me. does this just unlock the framerate completely or set a higher cap?

I love this game, bought it recently after I did an upgrade, because I was sure I was not able to run it before. The thing now is, I have almost finished it and as I'm a long time fan of the series, I really wanna check out the art book. But I cannot buy it, because, damn you and your store s**t, Bethesda... they cannot ship it to where I live, nor Amazon or any other store (yeah, I live in a s**t hole in a city nobody knows it exists lol). So, basically, the only way now is if I find it somewhere on the web. I'm trying to find it because I really love to read/see it, but it seems... crap, I cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know any place I can find it or if anyone has the digital copy (if it such even exists, I'm not sure), can you share it with me? I will be really grateful. Thanks. :(

I don't regret I bought it. I'm enjoying the game a lot and I like the concept in general, but there are some things that are killing the fun. I'm mainly talking about the megatextures (or whatever it was called) and the brainless A.I. I'm still at the beginnng and they are acting like... the don't have fu*****g head on theyr shoulders, man... lol. I even tried to stand in front of one guy and he noticed me 3-4 seconds after that.... Seriously?... Also was having low fps recently, but sacrificed myself and updated my AMD video card drivers to 14.4 as it was highly recommended, and game is working smooth now. Well, not as perfe t as it should, but its playable on low settings. Before I did that it was like I was watching movie in x5 slow motion, you know. But thanks to this I can play without serious FPS drops now. My question is: is there any new patch released after the "day 1” one that fixes the terrible AI and the performance, as much as it's possible? Or devs have stopped supporting the game hours after it was released, as tat is what it seems to mr
e rigjt now. Uh, and, is there any solution for the texture pop-ins? This thing is really making me mad. I hoped id are going to fix this crappy thing for once and forever, but for some strange reason they didn't... Seems like IdTech is not idTech anymore. I still remember the old times when Quake 3 and RTCW were released...To be honest, idTech 3 is still my favourite game engine from id. Newer versions can't f-ing stand to idTech 3 in any way. It is supposed than newer is better than the old one, but this doesn't always apply, right?
