here is a summary for those who want to get both games running fine in their desired widescreen resolution under newer versions of the windows. i have completely erased both games (including the missing files that i had requested here), done a fresh install and exactly followed this steps and everything works fine under Win 7, 64 bit. all you need to do is following this steps. first of all you need to get "Star.Wars.Knights.Of.The.Old.Republic.Collection.READNFO-FiGHTCLUB" which is the best release of the games. Q: why is it the best release of the games? A: because it is fully updated, the first game is v1.03 and second one is v2.2.0.0 right after installation and the second game already include High Quality audio and video files! SW:KotOR1 1.install the game from first iso file. 2.get "fixed_uniws" from below. (according to wsgf, patches.ini file has been edited to let the videos play properly as it was meant to be) Attachment: 3.get FLT's 1.03 crack from below. Attachment: 4.unrar "fixed_uniws.rar" and "fdx-sk13.rar" in some temporary folder of your choice. 5.run "uniws.exe" and choose "Star Wars: KOTOR (1024x768 interface)" from the drop-down menu in "Game" section, even if this is not your desired resolution! 6.now, in "Game installation Folder" section of the patcher, locate the folder which you extracted FLT's cracked exe file in, after that enter your desired resolution at "New Resolution" section, patch the file and overwrite the patched exe at your install dir. 7.go to "Movies" folder at your installation folder and delete these intro movies which may cause the game to minimize and freeze before reaching the main menu of the game: "leclogo.bik" and "legal.bik" (biologo.bik does not cause any startup crashes but you might as well want to get rid of it too) 8.download one of these GUI fixes, according to your chosen resolution, if you want to fix the GUI. 1530x864 1440x900 1680x1050 1920x1080 1920x1200 2560x1600 9.extract the compressed file and put all of the .tga and .gui files to your "Override" folder at your installation directory. 10.run the game via "swkotor.exe" (or make a shortcut at your desktop and run from there), go to Options\Graphics\Screen Resolution and now choose your desired resolution and then play. SW:KotOR2 1.install the game from second iso file. 2.get uniws from here (or get "fixed_uniws" from above instead) 3.get machine4578's 2.2.0.0 crack from here 4.unrar "uniws.zip" (or "fixed_uniws.rar") and "swkotor2_v2.2.0.0_steam.rar" in some temporary folder of your choice. 5.run "uniws.exe" and choose "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords" from the drop-down menu in "Game" section. 6.now, in "Game installation Folder" section of the patcher, locate the folder which you extracted machine's cracked exe file in, after that enter your desired resolution at "New Resolution" section, patch the file and overwrite the patched exe at your install dir. 7.now you need to modify the swkotor2.ini file, so go to your installation folder, open the file and edit "X" and "Y" values according to what you chose in uniws patcher:
8.download one of these GUI fixes, according to your chosen resolution, if you want to fix the mini map. 16:9 16:10 9.extract the compressed file and put the .gui file to your "Override" folder at your installation directory. 10.run the game via "swkotor2.exe" (or make a shortcut at your desktop and run from there) and then play. hope this helps someone.

FiGHTCLUB's release is up to date right after installation, but you can reach there if you manually update CD version of the game too but that add to the number of the steps. |

1. How are the Steam-versions in comparison to the FiGHTCLUB-release? 2. Are we able to use machine's medicine with the Steam-version? 1. there is no important difference at all. FiGHTCLUB's retail collection release miss some unimportant files which are not working correctly under newer versions of windows and with modern systems. 2. yes, of coarse you can. but if you do not want the risk of getting your legit account banned, you better rename the exe before putting it in your installation directory and you have to manually make a shortcut to the cracked exe. |

I downloaded the Fightclub release of SWKOTOR and carried out the following steps: 1. Mount image of first iso using Alcohol 120% 2. Installed the game 3. Placed the no-cd from the 'Fightclub' folder in the iso 4. Unmounted the image using Alcohol 120% But when I try to launch the game, I get a secuROM error: A required security module cannoyt be activated. This program cannot be executed (13001). I tried downloading the no-cd from gamecopyworld but that didn't work either. I'm running Windows 8.1 |

I installed kotor 2 for the first time yesterday on Windows 8.1 Pro and was amazed to see that the game ran on 1366 x 768 on its own WITHOUT ANY PATCHES. Yes - the vanilla game ran on widescreen 1366 x 768 on its own. But can someone confirm this for me? And can someone help me get KOTOR 1 running? -- Edit -- Hey I followed the instructions as mentioned in the first post and when I ran the game, it crashed after character creation. When I tried running it again, it crashed before it even started. I got a black screen when I double clicked the game and then the KOTOR has stopped responding message. I just want to get the game running. It doesn't have to be at widescreen resolution. Could someone guide me on how to do this? -- Edit -- I tried the instructions on my desktop which has Windows 7 64 bit and it worked perfectly fine. However, the same set of instructions are not working on Windows 8.1 and are causing the game to crash on startup. Strange. -- Edit -- Good news !! I managed to solve the crashing problem. Just make sure that if you're trying to get the games running on Windows 8.1 go to swkotor.ini and disable full screen and allow windowed mode. I'm still unable to view the movies though. |

You may have made a mistake at step 7 , make sure that you have entered Height and Width in correct spots. |
