I own the genuine version of Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition and I also purchased some (but not all) DLC for the game on Steam. I have successfully downloaded a file containing all DLC from a link found on this thread and ran the game with Steam logged in. The DLC works fine, however, I am worried that this may damage my Steam account or lead to a ban. What is the risk of this? What if I run Steam in offline mode? I am aware I can run the game completely with Steam not running thanks to the steam_api.dll found in the DLC file but is this the only safe way? There are no achievements I can see that you can earn from purchasing the DLC and I am using the genuine .exe to run the game so how can Steam know that a few DLC files are in use but not purchased?
