awesome are the books playing a major role now? i know in last wish they talk about the events in the prologue of the first game but if ciri's in it does that mean i need to finish the rest if the books in order to understand it? or is it just a direct sequel from the last game with you know who invading- and if ciri is in it - it stands to reason that yennifer and the wild hunt should have a huge impact.


Sorry, bud. I'm not into Witcher books. But as far as I know, both games are non-canon.

the console ver was the xbox 1 30 minute demo they showed a page back and it looks excellent, so the rumor is prolly just that a rumor. also the reason the game was delayed in the first place was for optimization- they want this to run on as many PCs as possible.

this demo is the one they showed on E3 and CC behind closed doors and that demo was the PC version (confirmed by CDPR) . (you know you can plug an xbox contoller and play it on pc with xbox buttons ? even witcher 2) so, to my knowledge they didn't show anything about console version of the game. do you have any other source to back your comment ?

The "demo" previous talk was about is the canceled Witcher (1): Rise of the White Wolf for Xbox360, while you are referring to the current Witcher 3 demo. It displayed XboxOne buttons on screen, so either it was the XboxOne version or the PC version using XboxOne button icons for controllers.

E3 footage was running on XBOX One. I believe same footage was shown at Gamescom.

They have problem with optimization for consoles. So, it is possible that game will not run at 1080p.

That is good!
Because you will need two GTX 780 Ti for about 60 FPS and that is lot of heat. So in winter you can use heat from GPU for you comfort in winter when you will be cold.

Just connect some elastic tube to GPU exhaust and end of that tube to your socks and you will be fine!

You joke, but here I have done that but instead of attaching to my socks I have attached it to the heating system of the whole building and people who live here pay me ca$h for the heating. NEATO! :laughing:

well ok so apparently thats "bad" but remember this is a 2015 game, so its not really that surprising to see a 2 year old card not being able to achieve 60 fps at max settings and resolution. the rule of thumb i notice with these games that stand as a graphical showcase is that the quality doesn't improve much from medium to high settings, but the performance drops dramatically. its sort of like crysis from 2007, the only card i know of that was able to handle that game on ultra back then was the 8800 GT, and still it was limping to the finish line at 20 fps... max settings/ultra for most games are very unopitimized settings that see very little gain in quality and huge loss in performance.

any of you guys remember when SSAO was first introduced about 7 years ago? it was a horrible feature back then that made very little graphical difference and took a huge hit in performance. obviously SSAO has seen much better performance optimization now and provides a much more substantial visual improvement in recent titles (Far Cry 3)...

and lets not forget the performance impact of "ubersampling" :ROFL:

all i'm saying is i wouldn't be surprised if Witcher 3 has another one of those "cutting edge" effects that sees a huge hit to performance and just a small visual gain. turn that one setting off and you'd probably get that 60 fps on the 780 Ti ;;)
