Anyone a serious Witcher gamer and series follower? I'm really interested in the 3rd game, but i wonder whether playing the previous games might be worth a try.

I did play the first game, but never finished (as is tradition). The first game is very different compared to the 2nd and 3rd games and i wonder whether it's still worth playing/finishing, with everything looking and being older. I've followed certain Witcher 2 walkthroughs to try and get myself interested, but it's just not happening much (some animations and certain character designs kinda put me off).

I kinda want to know from the more serious Witcher followers whether i should still give it a try. I bought both games and that's still not stirring anything up. ::P I might be missing out on what might be an awesome experience though.

Combat in Witcher 1 is horrible. It is the reason, I never enjoyed it.

Overall, both games are good and definitely worth playing. Give Witcher 2 a try. :)

If only CDPR remade Witcher 1 using RED Engine... I would play the shit out of that.

yeah combat system of Witcher 1 is strange , but its very worth playing just for the story , but i might have been biased as i've read all the books ;-)

I actually loved the combat mechanics in the first Witcher, the mechanics change in Witcher 2 actually put me off quite a bit (back in those days). ::P The "new" combat mechanics system obviously gives much more freedom and that's just better. I think you're right, both games should indeed be worth playing, thanks. Now to put my annoying prejudgements aside.

I found an old article, saying that Witcher is a trilogy and Witcher 1 HD is possible after finishing the third one. I think they will first make an enhanced edition of W3, then make a HD Trilogy for PC and PS4. (At least I hope so, and it would make perfect sense.)

Id sooner an HD edition of the first one then an enhanced edition of the 3rd one Then once they done that id expect them to release a trilogy with enhanced Witcher 3 :-).
