So apparently the devs have pushed out a warning that today's patch would have an issue. According to Reddit users, using the Grinder with 3 purple items would cause a crash.

Patch notes:

Adds support for upcoming downloadable content.

Users will no longer become stuck on the “Loading Character” screen when joining a game where the host has different DLC.

The Doppelganger’s VO will now play in the mission “No Such Thing as a Free Launch”.

Addresses a rare issue where joining a game while the host is in the main menu could cause a crash.

Jack will no longer spawn in the wrong place if the player saves and quits during “Lost Legion Invasion”.

Players will no longer receive an erroneous status window when accepting a game invitation from a host who’s network options are set to “online invite only”.

Fixed an issue where some enemy name text would be cut off when playing as Wilhelm in certain languages.

Fixed a rare issue where the player’s shield could instantly recharge when fighting certain enemies.

Players can no longer donate mission weapons in the mission “To Arms”.

Players will no longer be knocked back when receiving damage from friendly sources.

Ensured that the objective “Find Davis Pickle” will be dismissed when completed in the mission “Intelligences of the Artificial Persuasion”.

The Doppelganger’s “Winning” skill will now properly refill his shields upon every kill while active.


Also, some hotfixes such as the roid shield nerf will be included.

Important Information Regarding January 27 Update
27 января - Drcane
It has come to our attention that the January 27 game update for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which releases alongside the Lady Hammerlock Pack, has an unforeseen issue.

Specifically, when the update is applied, putting three items of purple rarity into the Grinder has the potential to cause a crash. The team is hard at work at addressing this issue as quickly as possible -- until then, we recommend players use the Grinder at their own risk.

Should players not wish to receive this update, which is required to play online and access the Lady Hammerlock Pack, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players should not accept the update when prompted to download while Steam players can put Steam into Offline Mode.

We'll share more information on the resolution to this issue as soon as we have it confirmed -- keep an eye on the Knowledge Base article here for the latest: https://gearboxsoftware.zendesk.com/entries/62463260

After installing the Update and the Hotfix BorderlandsThePreSequel isn't starting any longer :(
With every start a file will be compiled in Binaries\Win32 that is called BorderlandsPreSequel.exeXXXX.STEAMSTART

Where XXXX are random numbers.

Taking back my thanks for the update from Lordw007. I guess that this is a load of crap.

Hm, looks my installation is missing some files or some files are corrupt. Is there a tool where I can check the files?

After installing the update from sam2k8, BTPS is running again.

Hey I downloaded your files and applied the crack. But when I launch the game from the 'Borderlands Pre Sequel Launcher', I get the error Borderlands has stopped working. Tho when I lauch the game from the exe file it works fine. Can you upload the cracked launcher exe file?

There's no cracked launcher exe, updated launcher is in the update folder.

Oh ok. So it is not possible to launch the game from the launcher right? Only from the exe file?

Launcher works fine here unless there's still some compatibility issue between the launcher and lumaceg dll on some PCs.
