Shame? You're kidding, are you? The software you mentioned gets updated every three days and I downloaded and packed it for myself some days ago and THEN decided to share it here... Everyone should know that you have to look for updated software at least one time per week and that the redistributables I posted won't stay in their versions for all times...?! But you're correct in one point, I will delete the "up-to-date" part from the OP... No problem my friend, you actually were correct in an important point, I felt just a little bit offended by this "Shame" phrase, but it's nothing to worry about... It's the best place for those kind of things I was able to find, because: 1. It's up-to-date, 2. Must stuff featured here are not original microsoft installers (sometimes the originals suck) but repacks which feature improved install routines and setup junk removal. This thread reminds me of RessourectoR's runtime library packs, which were actually a custom automated installer. I ran those on every new Windows setup until they became too outdated, and still have them. Nowadays, I only install redistributables that a program specifically demands to function, to keep my systems clean. My desktop computer doesn't even have the .NET Framework or Java on it, since it doesn't run any programs requiring either. Anyway, just some useless rant from me. Feel free to move along

Holy shit. That is so ancient that this thread didn't even remind ME about my own stuff until you brought it up.  Now I need to check why the hell I made these.. nope, read the entire threads, no idea why. Were there no proper packs from MS back then?

Putting all this "redist" thingy in an AIO archive was a bad idea in case one components gets updated, entire archive needs to be repacked and reuploaded (and for the users, redownload it).
Most games I knew rarely rely on VC++ runtime (I believe most of them compiled in static lib), or even .NET (unless you're playing a XNA based game). However, their configurator (outside the game), sometimes needs them, for instance Sonic SASRT, its configurator is compiled using .NET, but the game isn't.

I believe the word "junk" is advertisement only, you won't gain any advantages using "slim" setup compares the original one, can be ended up same as SRWare Iron's case (a.k.a. scam).

You actually didn't get my point correctly: I assembled this package for MYSELF some days ago, by downloading the redist versions that were up-to-date AT THIS DATE. I decided to share it afterwards and I did it rather to point people without knowledge on this topic (it's an important one, you know...) and provide them some kind of starter pack to update ON THEIR OWN in the future...
