"I discovered RIN after Pacman's forum and Pacsteam. I used his repacks when I registered here.
That was back in 2007 when I googled "crack steam" and that his repacks (paccafe...) flooded the web. Thanks to him and his disciples, I found afterwards the true light of illuminati 666 gods here on RIN.

Now, I'm feeling old :("

I have a very old copy of Steamer, that program to automate the exploit of terminating Steam's process two bars into the key activation process. Sadly, I put it inside an encrypted archive (something which I had... no real reason whatsoever to do :?) and forgot the password since then.

You should probably be able to crack the password somewhat plausibly by now, as long as the archive conforms to your nickname as well.. :razz:
But yeah, don't those crackers that run on GPU, bruteforce pretty fast nowadays?
Haven't really needed such an app in a good while, although I know I have a few sets of these "recovery" apps somewhere.

I'm fairly sure I used a really long password, likely a phrase with mixed letters and symbols, falsely thinking I'd never forget it. Once again, that was me being an idiot, as I had no reason to hide those files.

Anyway, besides the nostalgia factor, it doesn't matter much. That tool is from the Half-Life 2 and Steam 1.0 days. I almost can't believe ten years have passed since then... and my '05 Steam account, created via a then blazing-fast 128 Kbit connection, is still working :)

Damn straight.. One only seems to notice how fast time passes when stopping to think about something that doesn't feel as if it was such a long time ago.. just to realize it's been almost a decade. A MFing decade dammit.

I was on 128k connection too when I registered. August 23rd, 2004. I am also the 4th oldest guy from Developers group. Didrole, SASiO, Cue and me, in that order. By "4th oldest" I mean old by registration date, not by age.

ADOM got on Greenlight today. I'd appreciate if you guys could vote "yes" on it. The game is really worth it (gameplay, attention to detail and replay value are all very good), and getting on Steam could open the door to even better things. :)
