If games, apps, movies and music albums were mostly available for only a few bucks (like about $5), would you buy what you think are 'quality goods' instead of pirating them?
If you only agree for games, but not for movies, for example, still vote yes.

Please vote and discuss.

Probably, I bought TF2 when it was 10$, and did the preorder 4 pack for both Borderlands and Left 4 Dead 2.

Some games are worth every dollar I spend on them (or would be if I could afford them) Torchlight for example. Though some games I could never spend full retail on (L4D1 or L4D2). Would never consider even buying Modern warfare 2. Even if it was $5. Movies? I usually just buy what I like. Never when it just comes out but eventually I do. Music I almost never buy.

I tend to buy for example highly discounted games on steam before trying at all... If they're only 2,50... who cares? :-)

Im one of those who tend to pirate the game first, and then buy it.
Like with COD:MW2, first I pirated it.. Tested some maps and I loved it.
So therefore I figured I dont want to be one of those "OMG GIVE ME MULTIPLAYER FOR FREE" people so I bought it at full price.
Worth every penny I say.

And I do own almost every Steam game I regurarly play, except L4D series which is a waste of money imo.
I only find those two games amusing if Im playing with a mate in reallife. Like a mini lan or something. so... Not going to buy it.

but for sequals, like Assassins Creed 2 (which I am hoping to get for Christmas), I know the first game was good so Im going to buy the sequal too.
But... if all games were sold for 5$ (€) I would probably buy more games, waste more time, be more nerd etc etc.

Actually my decision depends on the type of the game. For example I wouldn't pay more than 10-15$ for a singleplayer game. I would pay like 20-30$ for a multiplayer game. For MMO games (Massively multiplayer online games) I could pay a lot more than that if the game has the quality I expect. (For example for World of Warcraft which I pay 10$ a month.)

Paying a month fee (regardless of what game you're talking about) is a complete waste, in my opinion.
But of course I would be willing to pay, if the software is worth its price. But only after I've tested, I don't want to feel disappointed.

CoDMW2 is a very good example. It's a massively played game, it's fun (which is the most important factor) and it's well worth the money. I would buy it too, if my PC wasn't so old and was able to run the game properly.

My parents don't have a credit card,and they don't intend to get one...
But I prefer to spend money on truly important things.Like health,food,car,studies,heat for the winter etc.

And besides you'll still give money for something you'll get bored/sick of playing a game,and then it will bite the dust.
If you want to play it again,you can re-download it.

60€ is just a sick price for Modern Warfare 2 in Steam. They are cheaper in local stores but I cant buy them because im not 18 yet. Im waiting for MW2 to be under 30€ in steam. It is worth of the money. I know it.

There's always the option of making someone older than you to buy the game. :mrgreen:

After pirating it. System req on the box is mostly faked to make more people buy product.
Trial would be nice. 20 runs etc

I selected the "after testing" option.
I will buy some games this christmas, affortunately. ::D Starting with the TF2+GMOD pack.
In what refers to music, I always download albums to check their sound quality. Most albums have been given a horrible sound quality, increasing their volume so much they stutter a lot. I must clarify, this isn't because of MP3 compression, because I usually download in FLAC format.

i'd buy a game if i really liked it and felt the need to thank the dev's that made it.
but i'd also buy a game if i already knew it's going to be awesome.
