Isn't locking dramatic topics and preventing free speech in a place where everybody supports stuff like piracy, software freedom and et cetera a big hypocrisy?

By your theory, I can also follow with another point to give you a reverse answer. On a forum that supports illegal stuff like piracy, we also support fascism that prevents freedom of speech, which is also illegal.
I am talking about "I don't like this discussion, LOCKED" mood of certain authorized people.

Also, not only talking about the latest SKIDROW related locked topics, but all similar locked topics in the past years.

Sorry for my bad English
Nearly all of us don't have English as a native language,so we can't bother you for that! If you really doubt your English,go here and ask in your OWN language!
Y'know, I don't like where this thread is going, I think I'm going to lock it.
Well, I'm not sure if this is addressed to me, but I tend to have a reason for locking threads. The truth is, the threads I get to lock are mostly stupid ones from people having problem with game x, who just don't have the time to look around for a solution or just don't find anything relevant by searching (yeah, that really happens, I know, since searching has failed me lots of times) in the Main Forum. I can't think of a recent example of what you described, though, at least not here in the Off Topic forum. I mean, let's face it, there hasn't been a good discussion going on here since ages.
I don't tolerate negative attitude threads in general, since they almost never end well. But if the thread starter brings us a valid point, the thread may stay. However, if the post consists of lots of insults and little argumentation as to why they think in a certain way, no thanks, lock tiem.

A person who calls SKIDROW names like "SHITROW" or "SUCKSROW" and thinks he's being clever does not deserve people's attention.
Whats wrong against flaming? That thread didnt look like some uber rage. I think you are over reacting
The problem here is, people with a limited vocabulary in English (the majority of this forum, no offense) prefer insulting people, when they don't agree with them, instead of contradicting to their statements with arguments and that makes it really annoying.
Also, what SKIDROW has done in the past, does not concern this forum.

Shaman AlicanC The reason those threads are locked is that they tend to devolve into a useless debate/flaming war.
Then you lock when you think a topic will go bad, not because a topic actually went bad. That is suppressing, that is censorship.
Four flames, one thread. I would say that's out of control.
So are you going to censor all SKIDROW related topics from now on?
Don't blame him, those threads reek of stupidity. Scene groups don't profit from all of this (except from the usual "omg thanks", isn't that right ? They fight about it as if Microsoft made PS3 games Xbox360-compatible.

Agreed, but then when flames go too bad you can still lock them down I mean a little flame here and there can't hurt. You just can't have a world where people act nice to each other thats impossible and human is not meant to like everyone.

Sure thing, I agree, but what's a moderator's job, if not to maintain the peace in his community?
Don't you know that your government is thinking the same? They think just like you are thinking right now. They think a game with blood and death in it will cause violence and so they ruin games. They think you will start smoking when you see someone smoking so they ruin movies. They think you will curse when you hear curse words so they ruin music.
Don't be like that.
