I've managed to find some $$$, so I'm going to buy a new PC. I have decided to use Windows 7 Ultimate. I chose Ultimate because afaik the Home Premium version doesn't have the cool remote desktop stuff.
So, do cracked versions work properly? Can you get updates and other stuff if you used a cracked version? What are the downsides?
Also, 220 DOLLARS FOR A FUCKING OPERATING SYSTEM WHAT THE FUCK!

The main differences between Professional and Ultimate that come to mind are Bitlocker and multi-language (as in switching possible without reinstall). Not sure about other stuff. I know that Home lacks remote desktop and domain support, which is why it's useless for me. Ultimate is overpriced. This has always worked flawlessly for me. No problems with updates or anything whatsoever.

Factual correction: Windows 7 Professional was $100 bucks at a point. And it does what you want.
About 32/64-bit, there is a certain small chance of incompatibilities (due to registry virtualization and such). Furthermore, 64-bit has a lot harder kernel restrictions (KPP, mandatory general driver signing [on 32-bit, it's only partial]) as well as 64-bit has no WOW16.

Nearly all of us don't have English as a native language,so we can't bother you for that! If you really doubt your English,go here and ask in your OWN language!

Doesn't Radmin work on Windows 7? That's what I use for remote control on MicroXP, and it works like a charm.
When you use the official thing you can access your computer from any Windows PC since even the most basic versions have the RDP "client". (Sit in front of any Windows PC, WIN+R, mstsc.exe, type login info, BAM, you are logged in.)
Plus I can also connect to my computer from my iPhone with Wyse PocketCloud since it supports RDP.
Doing all of that without installing separate software is nice.

Can't comment on the iPhone thingy, but with RemotelyAnywhere you can use any browser as a client if that's the idea.

Windows 7 works very fine even without actually buying it. Spend that money on something for yourself instead, not your PC. Because PC will hang when you need him most, it doesn't deserve gifts such as expensive software and/or hardware

Durp Derp Just mod your BIOS with SLIC 2.1,flash it,install Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (check the MD5 and CRC to see if is official M$ untouched MSDN .iso file),install it,install the certificate(it will bring to a genuine OEM),now use a leaked OEM key to activate your OS on M$ servers, all updates work and you are genuine...
