Muhammad `I'm Hard´ Bruce Lee wrote: It sucks when you stand in front of a window or something, but that's not Apple's problem. Why didn't you choose the antiglare display option if you didn't like it? Like ChrisTX already mentioned: Not available for 13". Muhammad `I'm Hard´ Bruce Lee wrote: Also, people usually prefer fixing their computers when they have a problem, not sell them. I've used all versions of Mac OS from 7 to X and Windows from 95 to 7. Operating systems do not crash unless you fuck something up. I tried to fix it for a long time, but what should I do if the apps I need heavily rely on OpenCL, but Apple totally fucked it up, so every app that heavily uses OpenCL and CPU at the same time causes the OS to just give up and freeze? I even contacted Apple Care, they told me they can't help me as the scenario I used the MacBook Pro for is not what it is meant for -> nobody gave them answers to these kind of questions and there is no support at Apple for this kind of questions. Oh I even asked them why AHCI is disabled when Bootcamp is used, Apple Care had no idea what AHCI is. Technical support (these guys are mostly not even working for Apple, only partners) told me they themselves asked Apple the same question. They didn't get an answer. To my question what I should do now as I want to buy a SSD for my MacBook Pro, but still continue using Windows for games they told me: Do NOT buy a SSD for a MacBook of you plan to use Bootcamp. Funny that Apple advertises Bootcamp for all their MacBooks, even for the Air that only support SSDs. Muhammad `I'm Hard´ Bruce Lee wrote: It's Apple to blame if you had a hardware problem though. (I've heard a lot of things from yellow tinted displays to malfunctioning SSD's.) Have you tried to have a repair or a replacement? Was no hardware problem, hardware is 100% ok, it's software/firmware related. |

It's not like it said antiglare on the box and you got glossy, is it? About your OpenCL issue, were you trying to use it on Windows? I wouldn't trust Boot Camp at all. I trust neither running Windows on Apple hardware nor running Mac OS on non-Apple hardware. If you were trying to use OpenCL on Mac OS, problems you were having would be 100% Apple's fault. Couldn't you return it for a full refund? |

Muhammad `I'm Hard´ Bruce Lee wrote: It's not like it said antiglare on the box and you got glossy, is it? No. Still I sold mine cause glossy is just crap if you ever want to use you notebook outside. Muhammad `I'm Hard´ Bruce Lee wrote: About your OpenCL issue, were you trying to use it on Windows? No, OSX. Muhammad `I'm Hard´ Bruce Lee wrote: If you were trying to use OpenCL on Mac OS, problems you were having would be 100% Apple's fault. Couldn't you return it for a full refund? Well the macbook was already one year old and AppleCare told me that the MacBook is not designed to run apps like this and they are not resposible for crashes related to OpenCL API that is being used by third party software. -> According to Apple it is my fault, I should just disable OpenCL accelaration. On my new notebook (Windows 7) OpenCL is working fine, which means I am now able to do the same task on a AMD C-50 based laptop for <400€ in less time than on an C2DP8600 based MacBookPro (>1500€). |

I'm still rocking snow leopard, so I'm not sure if I will go with Lion. I haven't seen anything about it that entices me. |
