It would be interesting to see what windows services actually connect to this. Using netstat -a -b -o to get the PIDs and then Process Explorer, you can find that out. Maybe there's a logical explanation, but I'd sure like to know it. |

Maybe there's a logical explanation, but I'd sure like to know it. it was yesterday (all from schost.exe), today i check log and nothing suspicious. I read a little about the dod on net. 22 March 2012 - 22:35 "DoD is limited in its capabilities for offensive actions online, much like in defensive actions." http://www.neowin.net/news/department-o ... to-hackers Microsoft and DOD Defining Windows 7 Security (...) Microsoft is working with the government to establish secure system settings that are expected to become the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC) for Windows 7. (...)DOD and Microsoft will perform the primary work of writing the configuration for Windows 7, but the goal will be a governmentwide standard applicable beyond just defense and national security systems. http://redmondmag.com/articles/2009/06/ ... urity.aspx (...) Under the authority of DoD Directive 8500.1, DISA hereby releases the Microsoft Windows 7 Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), Version 1, Release 1, for immediate use as a DoD-approved security configuration guideline. This STIG is based on the Windows 7 Security Guide and security templates published by Microsoft Corporation and in collaboration with the DoD consensus team (e.g., NSA, DISA FSO, Service representatives). http://iase.disa.mil/stigs/downloads/pd ... d_memo.pdf -- Edit -- RessourectoR wrote: It would be interesting to see what windows services actually connect to this. Using netstat -a -b -o to get the PIDs and then Process Explorer, you can find that out. Maybe there's a logical explanation, but I'd sure like to know it. I found the reason. When I have Tunngle connected, the "US DoD" doing something, but i don't know what? and why? ![]() Im not alone Why when im running PeerBlock on my systems am I seeing so much blocked UDP actions taking place when using Tunngle? Even more concerning, why is my allocated IP range showing as communicating with the DoD Network Information Center? When I google the DoD Network Information Center to see what it is, it's shows to be the following: The Defense Information Systems Agency is a United States Department of Defense combat support agency with the goal of providing real-time information technology (IT) and communications support to the President, Vice President, Secretary of Defense, the military Services, and the Combatant Commands. If this is really happening, I think that your system requires a serious virus/malware cleanup or PeerBlock has some severe bugs. Nobody can monitor Tunngle users because it would mean violating several national laws and the Registration agreement. If you know of any crime you should report to the police http://www.tunngle.net/community/topic/ ... e-network/ Probably, that's not 7.XX.XX.XX an address belonging to a machine but simply the broadcast addres, logical/virtual ip. But why tunngle uses ip range same as us military dod? But Americans are fanatics when it comes to these terrorists. I read this article.. (...) Gamers can log on in groups to play against each other and — crucially — to chat in private. "They are logging into group games over the internet and discussing terror plots. Security people know about it. The terrorists choose incredibly realistic “first person games” where the controller works through a complex simulation of war scenarios, carrying out missions and battling enemy fighters. Gamers choose different styles of play and missions — from planting bombs to fighting one-on-one. Then they enter the lobby and invite their friends to join in. Call of Duty addicts can even join “clans” — groups who regularly play together. The games use a password-protected log-on to keep users’ identities secret. The system was designed so players anywhere on the globe can get together for harmless fantasy battles. But security chiefs now fear plotters are set to turn those fantasies into reality. Doesn't the Tunngle VPN assign IPs in the the 7.0.0.0/8 block? If so, that explains everything. Your computer isn't trying to contact the DoD, but other nodes in Tunngle's private network. |

.Rar, that is correct, I use PeerBlock myself and while using Tunngle, I had to either disable it or whitelist the 7.x.x.x ip block 'cause I couldn't connect anywhere. |
