Warhammer 40K Space Marine. Play as the leader of a squad of Ultramarines. These guys are the best of the best. Killing Orks and making heads explode. Nothing better. |

Total War series (Napoleon TW was my favorite) Risen (a mature RPG, not the kind of game where you get new shinny things after each battle) Two Worlds II (never ended it though, since the cracks didn't work after the 4th chapter) Killing Floor (the best coop game i've ever played) COD MW2 (i know.. i know.. still, i liked a lot when it came out - the multiplayer part. also the last GOOD cod of the series) and that's pretty much it.. can't remember anymore.. |

^ I have every post's content (thanks to .Rar --- Have 2 cool games. Jamestown (gameplay video, Steam) Old-school like arcade overhead shooter with super satisfying gameplay and an actual story. It feels super rewarding to beat this game. Though the last level will make you rage, believe me. And Yet It Moves (gameplay video, Steam) Original concept and fun to play in general. Also the game makes you feel high without actually being high in the later levels. |

Well, I don't have much time to play games now, but I enjoyed the hell out of Batman: Arkham City. Great story, lots of hours put into it, enjoying the replayability ^^ I still have it on my HDD.. I doubt I will ever delete this game xD As for others, Trine is okay I guess... Shoot Many Robots is what keeps me entertained in the last week or so. Not much of a story, and it is repetitive as heck... Has cool weapons and items though (: Frozen Synapse is good. I also recommend Bastion. I guess you already know these games |

FEAR series (particle system and unmatched john woo style gameplay mixed with japaneese horror elements - especially the first FEAR) ALAN WAKE (resemblance to twin peaks and overall setting and comedy-horror elements of the game) HALF-LIFE series (crowbar, slow beginning until shit starts hitting the fan) MASS EFFECT series (npc interaction and overall space opera climate) BATMAN ARKHAM series (resemblance to martial arts movies-taking all of them one by one until nobody's left) BULLETSTORM (skillshot system) GEARS OF WAR series (cover and shooting mechanics) CRYSIS series (most beautiful graphics, gameplay is not that bad either) MAX PAYNE series (alan wake creators what else could be said) HOMEWORLD series (best rts ever) COH series (creators of homeworld + best isometric view rts) BAD COMPANY series (destructability oh yes) SILENT HILL series (climate, climate and again climate) DOOM 3 (still scares the shit out of me in 2012) DEUS EX series (cyberpunk reality) UNCHARTED series (best adventure series ever) LA NOIRE and HEAVY RAIN (best detective games ever) COLIN MCRAE series (best racing series ever) RESIDENT EVIL series (if your into zombies then you can't miss that) HALO series (don't have to introduce master chief i guess) WORMS series (most fun family oriented game ever) MORTAL KOMBAT (most bloody fighting game) and a few amiga/pc games from my childhood (WALKER,CANNON FODDER, DESERT STRIKE, SYNDICATE, FLASHBACK, ANOTHER WORLD, ALIEN BREED series, DUNE series, BLACK CRYPT, DISPOSABLE HERO, SPACE HULK, HIRED GUNS, BLOOD series, SIN, NOLF series, SYSTEM SHOCK 2) |

Frozen Synapse is a great turn based strategy game. You control units on a 2D map and give them directions like, "move here," "Aim here," "Wait." What makes it great is that the turns are not, "You go, then I go." It's I make my plan, you make yours. Our plans go at once. We see who's not dead at the end of the turn. Repeat. The story is decent and the control over your units is the best I have seen. |

Since Waats posted games from his childhood, I think I will do the same Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (PC, PSX). The story: you're Croc. You were raised by the gobbos (cute creatures that resemble fluff balls with eyes) after arriving at their island in a basket, as a baby. Life's good until one day the evil Baron Dante raids the place and kidnaps all your friends. Now it's up to you to find and free all of them throughout the game world, evade the hazards in your way, and ultimately defeat the source of all this trouble. You have four islands you must play through, each with a specific theme to it (field, snow, sand, castle), and a fifth one is unlocked depending on how well you perform. You can collect crystals which act as HP (the same way as in Sonic), and finding the five colored ones on each level grants access to a bonus room. The gameplay is pretty standard platformer fare, but I really liked it because it was fun, the game world is beautiful, and the soundtrack just as great ______ ![]() Pitfall 3D: Beyond the Jungle (PSX). You play as Harry Pitfall, who's on an expedition in South America when somehow he manages to enter a portal and end up in a different dimension, which an evil character named the Scourge is trying to dominate, to then take over our world as well. You've got your pick-axe as a weapon, powerups, collectibles which add to your score, monsters to defeat on your way through. A memory that springs to mind: in the third level, you progress without anything noteworthy happening. Eventually you reach a puzzle where you must use some rhombus-shaped hooks to "fly" through. There you can see the spot where you started and the corridors you just went through all from above, and they're extremely distant, making you realize how much you've ascended since starting. This really surprised me the first time and still does! ______ ![]() Tekken 2 (PSX). The Mishima Corporation holds the King of Iron First tournament with a million-dollar prize to the winner. The game's characters sign up in an attempt to win, some with good objectives, others with morally questionable ones. As usual in this genre, there are many fighters with unique, thematic combos, different arenas, unlockables, various game modes and of course, versus mode. I'm not particularly a big fan of fighting games, but I liked this one and also the third installment. ______ ![]() Vigilante 8 (PSX). OMAR, some corporate group, wants to monopolize the oil industry, through armed combat if necessary. The police can only do so much, therefore a gang of vigilantes teams up to defeat the bad guys. After a raid on a military base, both sides get their hands on very powerful weapons, and the battle begins... you probably get the idea here. Each car has its own advantages and disadvantages, and a unique special weapon. There's a story mode where you progress through different scenarios against specific opponents, the game giving you mission objectives (e.g. "keep X building undamaged" or "you must collect item Y at least once") and telling you the reason you have to kill so much via intermission screens ______ ![]() Tunnel B1 (PSX). I don't even remember the plot on this one, although I do recall there's an FMV which sort-of explains it. Anyway, you're the pilot of a sort of futuristic armed hovercraft who must defeat the final boss at the end of the tunnel, which seems to go on forever. A peculiar aspect is that your point of view is located just slightly above the floor, shifting and shaking accordingly as you move. This can be a bit disorienting at first, but then you get the gist of it. I hear Descent for the PC is similar. The game is fast paced: many objectives have time limits (having to get through a mined and patrolled highway with 10% life in less than a minute, that took me like a dozen attempts ______ ![]() You can use the pSX to play these games in a computer. The ISOs can be downloaded from ROMulation.net, or just look them up in Google. |

If you want an old platformer with a great ambient and story, play FlashBack. Since indie developers make platformers these days, FlashBack would feel just like a new platformer game due to the fact that it never ages. |

Mr.Deviance Flashback was hard as hell. Never beat that game. Great graphics for it's time though. If you enjoyed that game, then check out Out of this World/Another World. Same developer. |
