What the fuck is going on exactly at your place? I want to hear it first hand from you.
I go to Greece and Turkey all the time for my summer vacations.
Will I be able to come to your place this summer without eating tear gas and bullets or not?
I don't like my Iskender Kebab with tear gas in it...

I am interested to know what's going on RIGHT NOW and not about what happened until now because I already read lots of news about what happened and saw enough videos.
I care to know what's going on right now? Are there still ppl in the streets fighting the riot police?

The biggest riots are in İstanbul, İzmir and Ankara. Our whole economy is affected by this. Dollar went up from 1.8 TL to 1.9 TL. We completely occupied Taksim, Gezi Park and surrounding areas. We built barricades around Taksim and have excavators, trucks and abandoned police vehicles to keep it secured. We are trying to organize a country wide strike, but many people doesn't even know that there are riots. Turkish mainstream media cencores everything and only publish lies. Police starts fires, they don't let us put it out and media bought by the government puts the blame on us. Government forced media companies to go bankrupt and gave control of them to other media companies which they own. Revolution is not being televised.

Shaman would you mind putting a note next to links, if the sites you link to could contain graphic stuff? I don't want to censor anything in this thread.

I thought that was supposed to be a live cam not a recording...

It was live, showing police and resistance activity near İnönü Stadium. Police probably jammed stuff or took their cameras.

So, has shit calmed down now?
Are there still riots and fights in the streets right now, or going to be tonight?

İstanbul is calm, but Ankara is not. Cops in Ankara are hiding their helm numbers so they don't get sued after the crimes the commit:

I am reading this ATM:
Quote:
My dear relatives, my friends, hello…
I went down to Kızılay last night at 9pm and by 11pm, infront of the Kızılay mall, I was in a such a condition that I couldn’t even move. Before I was violently beaten by cops, I had already collapsed to the ground because of the pepper gas. I tried to crawl towards the light I could see in the CHP building. The people who were there tried to help me get to a first aid group or to an ambulance. They told me the ambulance didn’t arrive for an hour and a young man that I didn’t know tried to get me to a hospital in a cab. We went to 3 different hospitals. But the emergency units were full and they didn’t have the equipment to treat my condition so I was taken to a teaching hospital emergency. People who were in my condition or injured in various ways kept pouring in. After the emergency marathon that went on until the morning, I have found out that I had cracks in my ribs, a cracked nose, and intense bruising almost everywhere on my body. I recieved my doctors report. I have the photos and official report of this. Tomorrow I will start the necessary legal processes. I can not predict how things will go but the violence and the escalation of the events are very scary! I’m getting increasingly worried about people, about my country, life and the world. This chaos which has incredibly tragic details is being experienced by other people again, right now, and it looks like it will go on. Right now I can only pull together to write this much. As a human being, as a mother, as a woman, as a media member, I want to let people know that this is the situation they have put me in, so that I can not even follow the events anymore. Where as I had only gone there with a first aid kit, (leaving my child to the grandparents at 9pm) to help the people in need, to perform my duty as a human being. Be our voice! Let it be known… There is something that everyone can do! Everyone… Like the 2 cops that rescued me while 7-8 cops were kicking me, hitting me with their batons and squashing me with the butts of their rifles. There is definitly something that anyone can do the help, there is hope!

I never really understood what type of men can beat up random women on the streets until they mutilate them?
I can understand why some simple minded idiots can find it ok to smash the face of a sexy young whore that cheats on them or talks trash back to them.
I know what domestic violence is but this is something else which I am trying to understand and I can't.
To beat your girfriend/wife/sister/daughter/mother/annoying classmate/annoying bitch that provokes you really bad/ is in one category and to organize into a group of 7-8 other men and gang up on a mother in her 40's and beat the living shit out of her and then when she is down to smash her face with your weapon of choice, is something that literally can't be explained at all.
I can understand why 7-8 police idiots or males in general would gang up on a GUY and beat him to death even for not liking his face but I do not understand why do 7-8 males that are supposedly defending the law, gang up and treat a woman in her 40's as if she is a guy that crossed their territory.
This is against the human instincts, even against the most basic animal instincts that are surely still inside all of us.

I don't know if this is the case but maybe some others do.
Do authentic homos hate women and are even willing to beat them in such manners because they lack any sexual driven empathy for the opposite sex?
If that is the case, then that is my only means of explaining this.
The cops that would gang up and beat a woman for no reason like that, are all homo fags that deserve to... well you know my opinion on fags so let's just leave it at that.

Some of those cops are not cops. They are AKP fanatics in cop uniforms and equipment. Those fucking bigots can do anything.

For me it doesn't matter if either cops or revolutionaries group up to fight together. You feel stronger if you have someone supporting you. Adrenalin does the rest.
Atack is stupid - Defense is legit. I've seen both in less important situations.

What I can't understand is that two cops finally rescued her! - because this might really need some big amount of courage. We need more of those guys so there might not even be any need for a riot. I hope they won't loose their jobs for not being assholes.

So I see your police state government put you in your place.
No more protesting in turkey I see. Everybody listens to what their officials say is better for them, right?
