CS.RIN.RU - Steam Underground Community

Since games can no longer be played through the official valve servers due to the server-side checks (tickets), a new updated steamemu was made.

This emulator does not only emulate the running of a game, but it also emulates the full functionality needed for the steam client.

This means the steam client can be used as normal without even having contact with the steam server.

Version 3.02 beta supports at least all games through the steam client interface. You only need to make sure that you have the needed gcfs for a game available, otherwise it will not appear on your play games list.

Games are automatically installed with the minimum set of required files when a game is started.
Also offline mode is enabled on all games.

Furthermore, since the emulator runs fully offline, nothing can stop this solution from working, as GCF's or client are never updated.

Instructions:

• Extract the contents of the included archive into your Steam client directory.
• Start steam with SteamClient.exe NOT Steam.exe

Notes:

• Make sure you don't have old emulator files sitting in your SteamApps\<User> directories.
• Any login name will work when trying to login to steam, the
  password is not checked, but the name is used as directory to install into.
• Once the emulator seems to work ok, I'll add in global -masterip functionality, to have all games query SirArthurs master server instead of the Valve one, from there on cs.rin.ru will have a fully private steam network.

Edit: I have Two Pcs at home and i installed this emulator in both pcs(in six steam folders) and tryed it on LAN (CS CZ) and It worked Just Fine!

unable to connect to cracked hl1 based servers...i guess hl1 based servers must be rinning steamemu to and not the other crack??

when I extracted the .rar content to my steam directory, I had to replace my current steam.dll, do I did that....but then a message came telling me that the prog couldn´t find steam.dll:

"Failed to load Steam.dll
Make sure SteamLauncher is in the steam directory."


........So I used my previous steam.dll.....It launches steam, but there´s no game in my games list...

what am I doing wrong??

Did you start "SteamClient.exe" after extracting the files into your steam folder? ( NOT steam.exe!)

Yes I did...

I extracted all the files to my Steam directory but when I launch any game I get three errors:

"File steamemu.ini not found. Sorry, but I need it." (Comes twice)

"Can't load C:\Program\Steam\SteamApps\MyName\Half-Life Source\bin\filesystem_steam.dll".

"Fatal Error

Could not load filesystem dll.
FileSystem crashed during construction."

What should I do?
Do I have to edit the .ini-files or put the files in another folder?

same thing... needs steamemu.ini =/

No, I trust hCUPa, the first version worked fine without any errors.

Well as for me , I couldnt play in LAN with six steam , coz of steam ticket thing... so i just downloaded this nice release , unpacket it six steam's folder, start SteamClient.exe , I done it 2times in my two pcs, and played CS CZ for and 30 mins now without problems! (me and my brother and bots )

Ok here are somebugs:

when i start HL2, HLSource, i got unable to load engine.dlll
and HL2 DM, i got unable to load serverbrowser.dll
then i got "SteamClient.exe has to close" thing
But after restating it ...everything boots fine...expect Codename: Gordon, it dosen't works/boots at all....

I know its still beta, but i hope this helps the arthour.

Magnetsillen, when you run ANY game it complains about HL source?

To all, start SteamClient.exe from its directory, not from somewhere else. Might help it finding steam.dll
Also dont try putting other emulator versions/ripped emulators from other releases and stuff. It will not work. Make sure you get both .ini files from archive and put it there as well. Overwrite your old .ini files if needed. I can't reproduce your errors here, so lets wait for some more feedback..

well mate im your personal fan..... we need to implement this worldwide... if we could get all the servers that use non steam already cause theres about 100 cs non steam servers that use the other crack would be great)
