Yes, speaking of ability to run given game this emu is not much of improvement compared to 2.xx versions, even if there were few bugs fixed in filesystem related code.
After initial emu release (vng one) it became clear that people usually cant configure games manually, dont like too much editing .ini files and arent quite sure if running games from command line is the most convenient way. To address those issues people started writing all kinds of steam client GUI replacements, launchers and this kind of stuff basically replicating work that valve did once. This emu tries to solve this problem differently: why do we want to write own GUI replacement if we can reuse existing one, even if it required major changes to emulator? Also it tries to fix some things i was not quite happy with: like having to put a copy of steam.dll into each game directory and some SDK related issues.
p.s. and at very least its not "d4rkm4nx.dll" type thing. sorry, could not resist.

i never had a problem to load the game trough cmd line..
iven tho i made nice launcher for the unpacked version for my priv use..
i dont really care about the gcf's n shit.. i can simply update with hldstool...
and about d4rkm4nx.dll 
i still like you..
anyways there is some servers that u got to use the steam engine to play if you dont you will get rejected..
i always recomand lan so people wont need to start steamengine.exe or steam.dll\steam-down inda crap not necessary.
anyways.. i still see no point of thins emu :>
sdk works fine with me with previous one.
but i still cant avoid about gcfs wont update..
now you need to make updates aint that anoying..

when the [ticket error] happened , i still could play in official servers(CSS,HL2DM)
but i reinstalled my system 10 days ago, and when i wanna play on offiicial servers , i get the [ticket error], so yesterday , i use this emulater to start game , then quit it , then i start the game with steam.exe , it updated the steam.dll to 3.**MB ,then i quit steam, now i use ppather to start game , now i can get into official servers without [ticket error]

i'm still have a problem while joining a online cs game. My error gives me steam ticket and i don't know what to do? Can you guys explain step by step to me or can give me a cdkey i can use? I really want to know it would help me out alot and i can start playing all my games. Let me know if you can help in any way thanx

i dont understand why people dont rename steam.dll to steam1.dll and have it nonsteam+steam..sounds easy enough
