n00b question but willt hsi work with any version of hl2. just so i know if i need to install a certain update after i reinstall hl2 and so on.. thnx a bunch.

How do I join a game using SteamEmu? I am using FuckSteam Browser, and when I copied the server address and added it to my CZ console they just say, STEAM Validation Rejected

It works for me but I'm new at this and I would like to know how to update my games throught hCUPa's emu.Can someone tell me?

I have finally obatin work hcupas emu, but to work i have to be connected to internet. there is any way to play witout conecction?

What do you mean? SteamEmu263 worked great playing on official css servers with hl1 account until 24.02 update came (renders emu263/gcf access useless)...
I think its still possible.. will you re-integrate it?
Six still works with hl1 keys as well...

1.First I ran ppatcher and updated all my files!

2. Ran all the games that I wanted to play with steamemu3.0b so the files could be updated. This of course is updating your actual user profile. Not your fake "USER" profile that the old steamemu would create. That is pretty much what the old exeucter program used to do, it would extract all the files from the .GCFs and put them into your "c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\USER" folder.

3. Now that all my files are up to date I exited out of steam and placed the files in the following folders (For this example my user name in steam is brsil020679):

steam.dll = c:\program files\valve\steam
steamapps.ini = c:\program files\valve\steam
steamclient.exe = c:\program files\valve\steam
steamemu.ini = C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\brsil020679\half-life 2

The only other note I would add to that is to edit your steamemu.ini so that it matchs your files:

BaseDir=C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps

At this point you can use the steamclient.exe to launch your games or make a shortcut and run it the old way:

Shortcut: "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\brsil020679\half-life 2\hl2.exe" -steamlocal

Repeat for all the other games and let me know what happens!

PS- Just as an extra note Im sure you can do all of this and then move all the files to your old "USER" folder.

Is there a way to get garrys mod to work in the emulator... i have tried but whitout any luck =/... anyone got any tips ???

After you have done everything I showed above, download garrysmod and it will install into the sourcemods folder. Copy the garrysmod folder from that location into your c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\acountname\half-life 2 Folder!

Now add the following to your steamemu.ini file in that same folder:

;Garrys Mod
[HL2.EXE_garrysmod]
; Source Engine Base Files, required to play Source Engine games
GCF01=source engine.gcf
GCF02=source models.gcf
GCF03=source materials.gcf
GCF04=source sounds.gcf

To launch the game just do as follows:

hl2.exe -steamlocal -game garrysmod

The reason this works is because it loads it right out of the same folder and steamemu knows where to look for the files.

Thanks the the garry's mod tip. And thanks for the emulator both work perfect. Shame valve went and stopped updates but i still have the cache files from before so . Any of you think that updates problem can be fixed, because earlier i could update cs 1.6, HL ect from valve content servers with ppatcher (six steam), when i could not update HL2 CS:S ect using a legit HL account, but later on i could no longer update even anything with ppatcher, but i can if i don't use ppatcher so it ain't an ip ban. What are your thoughts .

I follow the instructions from brsil020679 and havent working...
I m tired of testing this emu since three weeks ago with no results...
What happen?
i have download the steam... installed it, download gcfs nad next putting the files of the emus...with no result never....

Can someone give a step-by-step on what to do to make HL2 run offline with this?

I tried everything listed in this topic, but for each one I try I end up with a different error when I run the game and have tried several other things on my own that haven't worked either.

I finished downloading HL2 a few days ago and started playing it, and now I haven't been able to play since the last Steam update (yesterday) and it's really pissing me off.
