I have a problem with the mod hl2cp (a mod to play HL2 in coop)
I think this mod doesn´t load the gcf files from lost coast and half-life 2 content.
I have installed it and added it to the mods list in steambuster (with the configuration.exe) but it doesn´t work (there are many textures and models missing)

im just starting to understand whole steam games structure, so i dont fully understand how the mods are working yet.
so i have a question, after instaling the sb v4 when i open one of the icons linking to mods, eg. ravenholm, the game starting to load main screen, the return to windows with message "Could Not load library client". that happend with every mod i try to open. i think i've instal everything right. o, one more thing, when i open the 'hl2 engine starter', half life 2 and counterstrike are gray, like there are not instaled, the mods are listed under them, appeared to be fine (but like i said before, they returning me to windows). i haven't checked the 'kopy gcf files'(or something) box during the install. please respond! ill be very happy

perhaps you haven´t installed the hl2 engine?
first you must install hl2 engine (you could install hl2 or css too)
then you install the mods with the configuration.exe
and then it should work

write back if it doesn´t solve your problem

i've instaled the sb v4 again, selected everything except 'copy gcf'. instalation has ended without complications. now, on desktop i have another shortcut to half-life 2. when i open it, the game is acting like mods in my earlyer post, it shows me menu image under the fog, and return to windows with the same message 'could not open library client'. mods are acting the same. earlyer i wasn't even able to open half-life, so thats a little step forward, but this time everything is in the same situation, thats a litle plus thankfully i still play half life from vengeance crack, but my goal are mods i just have to pilot strider! :>

do you have the platform.gcf?
and do you have the source enginge.gcf (i think so)?

you could manualy copy the server.dll and the client.dll (from half-life 2 content.gcf) to half-life 2 engine/hl2/bin and the bin folder (from platform.gcf and from source engine.gcf) to half-life 2 engine/bin

can you tell me how to copy those files? im guessing that there is a program to extract the content of gcf files.
the game is working, but everything under sb v4 isnt.

eh.. it didnt worked. i'm after format, so i've deleted everything except steam apps, and then i've instaled sb4, and didnt check the box 'kopy the gcf files'. did what you said, but in platform'gcf there was no 'bin'. i've done everything word by word, even if in halflife2engine there was no bin, or hl2/bin, i've created them, and even copy to bin in one folder deeper when i've found it. could you tell me how do you install your copy of sb4? or meaby older version? the windows is 1 day old, so its not his fault. thank you for your time so far, apprishiate

i have all gcf files in .../steambuster/steamapps
-> copy steambuster.exe in .../steambuster
-> install hl2+css++hl2: deathmatch+hl2:loastcoast (execute steambuster.exe)
-> copy mods (e.g. dystopia) to hl2engine/sourceMods
-> install mods (execute configuration.exe (in .../steambuster)
-> start games with shortcuts in the shortcuts folder or with hl2luncher

that´s it

it´s working fine (normally)
i´ve tried it and some of my friends (always working)

p.s. you need winXP servicepack 1 or 2
(I have tested it only witch servicepack 2)

will there be a sbv5 or 4.x to play red orchestra? cuz i really like sbv4 for lans and some cool things with lan game created an mani admin plugin (to hard to explain... i just got it working to create an ingame ded-server ) so if there will be one please tell^^

step by step.
i've moved gcf's from hl2 directory to new sb4 directory and so on.
the same error apear.
i have Vengeance cracked half life.
windows sp2.

where do you put the maps for Cs 1.6? Like the map Fy_snow?

1. uninstall SteamBuster and after this delete all folder where you install SB.
2. Now open "source engine.gcf" with GCFScape and in Botton Right corner there are numbers with GCF Blocks they must be the same (1923/1923) if they not then you must update them with STEAM
3. If everything is OK then run SteamBuster select HL2Engine (do NOT check Copy GCF files) . In Game Choose select games that you want install (if you want install SB only for mods then you dont have to check anything) click Next until you install everything and SB exit.
4. Now for check is everything is extracted open again "source engine.gcf" and check how many files it have. Next go to you SB installation and check how many files have "SourceMods" folder (should be something like that "source engine.gcf files count + 3 StemEmu files) If all files are OK continue.
5. If you want install any SourceMod then before you run Setup program run "Install Mods" in "Configuration.exe" and check "Half-Life 2 Engine Mods" click OK and then you must install your mods.
6. If mod install then click OK and check if its on Instaleed mods list.
7. Now run your mod form Shortcut or Launcher.

I you stuck somewhere then tell me in with point.

OK. Some news. I want to tell everyone (who are interesed) that I making new SteamBuster. I know that there are programs like SB but i cant crack to make new Steam Client (and i dont make repacks). Im still learning progrogramming and new SB show that what i lern.

Please give me some ideas and soultions.
