(In first post all is writed) Just install those games that SteamBusterv3 allow you. Its realy simple. If you know how to install any game that you have then im sure dont have problems with SteamBusterv3, but if you have nay problems post it here.

I have tried what you said on the first post but I get errors:
When I choose the directory for the GFC (valave/steam/steamaps) it says some gfc are missing. I cant find those GFS's.
This is what i did:
I installed HL2 (with steam but no internet connection)
Then I opend steambuster
Something really wrong here

I cant install the game with steam buster. When I choose my GCF directory it says can't find some of the GCF files.
I installed steam, then the game, then downloaded the steambuster .exe file (found on the first page) doubleclikked steambuster chose half life 2 engine and the direcotry for the GCF (steam/steamapps) but he can find only one GCF (platform.gcf)

doesn't the game install the GCFs? Or does your friend has the extracted (standalone) version of the game?

He told me that he has the retail (og) version (he bought it from the store).
This is all the GCF's I got under Steamapps/:
base source shared materials.gcf
base source shared models.gcf
base source shared sounds.gcf
base source shared.gcf
half-life 2 base content.gcf
platform.gcf
source shared securom.gcf
What to do now?

that should work. Point to that steamapp folder under HL2 engine! not HL1. It should work then

Thats what im doing fot the past 15 minutes. this is what i get:
PLATFORM.GCF AVAILABLE
SOURCE ENGINE.GCF MISSING!!
SOURCE MODELS.GCF MISSING!!
SOURCE MATERIALS.GCF MISSING!!
SOURCE SOUNDS.GCF MISSING!!
and when i choose the steamapp directory, i get this error:
the directory already exist, install anyway?
And when I open the steambuster I get a error saying cannot connect to internet, quit updater??
Is it maybey because I installed steam and hl2 whitout a internet connection???

PIC 1 ignore that.
PIC 2. Hmm i see some files are missing.
You'll need to update them with Steam

PS: Is it true that the game will run slower because steam is being emulated??

with steam buster? no. Steam buster is one of the fastest way
Let your HL2 update and then you can install HL2 with Steam Buster and uninstall Steam

Ok installation went good, but when I start half life 2 (Start->Steam buster-> half life 2 ) I get an error saying:
invalid/corrupt texture material/console/background01.vtf
even when I try to start the hl2 engine I get an error saying he cant find the background01.vtf file.
edit: I forgot to uninstall steam. Is that teh problem?

First update HL2. You will need CueSteam (Sorry i forgat to tell you). Install it to the Steam folder the launch it. It will update HL2. Then you can install the game with Steam Buster . I'm glad to see someone that understands instructions without step by step instructions
